Most people think their “education” stops once they graduate high school or college. From what I’ve learned in life, that’s when your real education begins! If you want to succeed in life, you need specialized knowledge. That takes times time, money and effort to happen. And if you want to succeed in network marketing, you need to educate yourself about the industry. You also need to educate yourself about sales, marketing, entrepreneurship, leadership and communication. Simply put, you must be a student of your business.
In MLM, your business education never stops! From the day you first join the industry you need to start reading books, listening to tapes, attending seminars, listening to masterminds and work with a coach. You must commit to studying your industry and mastering your craft, just like the pros do. You should do something to educate yourself EVERY single day. You must get started and never stop!
Study any top earner in any company and you will quickly discover that they invest A LOT of money each month to educate themselves. Many successful distributors spend thousands of dollars each month on books, training and seminars. They do all of the things I mentioned above (read, listen to tapes, etc.) so they can have a cutting edge, and more importantly so they are a person of VALUE. Educating yourself will help you develop the right skill-set and right mind-set, exactly what you need to succeed in MLM.
Once you have these things, you will be unstoppable. Some people develop quickly and others take years to develop. After all, we are all different and we all start at different places. But regardless of where you start, you need to educate yourself and improve. We can all improve.
You have to remember that when you see someone successful in our industry you see the FINISHED product. What you don’t see is the trials, the tribulations, the setbacks, the failure and all the time and money they invested in themselves and in their business education, so they could become the person who attracted success. For example, I know that I am nowhere near the same person I was when I joined this industry 11 years ago. After reading nearly 1000 books, attending hundreds of seminars, listening to thousands of hours of training and working on myself for 11 years, my business education has helped me become a successful person and entrepreneur. It will have the same impact on you.
Even better, as I continue my MLM Business Education in the years to come I will continue to improve. I’m sure 10 years from now I will be nowhere near the person I am today. I will be better. My mind-set and skill-set will be better because I took the time to develop them.
Just remember that your MLM Business Education never stops. If you really want to make it, you have to roll up your sleeves and do the work. But you also have to educate yourself and be a student of your profession. You have to be 100% committed to success and making yourself better.
Remember, you can’t lose money when you invest in yourself!

I agree with this completely! And like Faye mentioned, it doesn’t have to be a formal education either. There are lots of ways you can further your MLM education without actually going back to school. Webinars, watch Youtube videos, read books, there are lots of choices!
I agree with everything you say in this post, and with Greg, too. A day is wasted if you haven’t learned anything. This doesn’t even need to mean formal education. It is great to be able to look at everything as a learning opportunity. Even if a day is totally messed up, you can learn that you really don’t like something, or that there has to be a better way to do things. You just keep your mind open.
You know my Dad used to tell me “If you don’t learn something new each day, it was a wasted day.”
Education should never stop. Be it your MLM, your business, or even if you clean toilets for a living, you should always be attempting to do it better. It may come from reading books, watching videos, taking extra classes, attending seminars, or just following and asking someone who is successful questions.
Yes, there are probably those who say, “How could you learn anymore about cleaning toilets?” There is always new technology or someone who found a better, easier way.
Many who are in MLMs think they have learned it all. I say that is a dangerous thought pattern and is the road to ruin.
Keep learning at all times.
The day you stop growing and learning is the day you die!
