Every serious network marketer needs a blog.
There, I said it.
I know, I know what you’re thinking.
“Chuck, my upline told me I had to build my business offline, face-to-face. I have to do it their way or the business won’t work.”
Contrary to what you might have been told, you need an online presence, even if you are building offline.
I’m not telling you that you have to exclusively build your network marketing business online, but I am telling you that you SHOULD have your own blog.
Because if your prospect has any common sense at all, they are going to GOOGLE your name.
They’re going to research YOU as part of their due diligence, BEFORE they team up with you or join your company.
That’s what a smart prospect would do.
After all, wouldn’t you want to know more about the person you are joining, before you signed your name to the dotted line?
I sure would.
In addition, we live in a global economy.
If you aren’t online, you are currently limited to your own geographic location.
Depending on where you live, that can be a good thing or a bad thing.
If you live in America, there are about 350 million people living here.
That’s a lot of potential prospects.
However, if you have an online presence you can have access to nearly 7 BILLION people.
Chew on that baby!
And you don’t have to chase these people down.
Some of these people will find you online and chase you down.
Wouldn’t that be nice for a change?
There are many other benefits for having your own MLM Blog.
Here are some of the reasons I think it’s a great idea:
# 1 Generate Leads 24/7
Even if you are a master prospector, I can assure you there is NOTHING like having a prospect call you with their credit card in hand, asking to partner up with you.
When you have a blog, you can generate leads while you eat, while you sleep and even in your “off” time.
# 2 Build Your Brand
You are your own brand, whether you realize it or not.
Promoting your network marketing company is great, but you need to remember that PEOPLE JOIN PEOPLE.
What separates you from everyone else in your company?
Why should people partner up with you instead of someone else in your company?
If you don’t know the answer to that question you are screwed.
Brands are very valuable.
Just ask Coca-Cola.
My brand is the No B.S. Network Marketer.
Having your brand ONLINE is just as important as having a brand to begin with.

# 3 Multiple Streams of Income
I’m gonna get some slack for this one, but I am a BIG fan of multiple streams of income.
I believe that smart entrepreneurs in EVERY industry have several income streams, not just one.
I’m not talking about building two MLM Companies either.
I’m talking about having a website that produces income through advertising, coaching, services, affiliate products, your own products, AND your MLM Company.
This puts you in the driver’s seat, in case your company ever goes out of business or terminates you, and it helps you sleep better at night knowing you are diversified.
I have about 40 income streams with this website.
None of them are HUGE all by themselves, but when you add ’em all up it’s a decent living!
# 4 Build an Asset
Your blog is an asset.
It has a cash value and you can sell it if you want! Trust me, when you have a HIGH TRAFFIC blog, lots of people will fork over their hard earned cash to buy it from you.
If you build your blog right, and pick a decent domain that isn’t your own name, you can build something that you can eventually sell one day.
That is my plan with this website, at some point.
Cash it out for a gargantuan pay day and retire at the beach (at some point).
# 5 Work Smart
Blogging allows you to work smart.
I understand the value of working hard.
I work hard.
But, I also work smart.
When you have a blog, you can spend an hour a day to maintain and grow it, yet it works for you 24/7, even while you are building your business offline!
To me, blogging gives me the ultimate LEVERAGE.
Once again, I believe every SERIOUS network marketer should have their own blog.
Your blog doesn’t have to be big like this one.
You don’t need thousands of pages of content.
But, you do need an online presence and you should have your own blog for all the reasons listed above.
By all means, keep building your business offline.
That is the proven way of doing things.
From my personal experience I’ve learned that building the business face to face is the most EFFECTIVE, but BUILDING ONLINE is the most efficient.
Combine the two and it is a win-win.
