Top 4 Ways to Make More Scentsy Sales

Scentsy is a power house in the direct sales arena.  Not only are they a great company, but they also have great products.

Unfortunately, most Scentsy reps don’t get the results they want in their business BECAUSE they don’t know how to generate leads and they don’t know how to sell.

My goal today is to give you a few tips on how to sell more effectively, so you can make more money and get the results you deserve in your Scentsy business.

Here are my top 4 ways to make more Scentsy sales:

1. THROW PARTIES! Hosting a party where you show and sell the product is pretty much the number one way to begin building a customer base when starting out. Generally speaking, who would you think to invite to a get together or birthday or holiday party at your house? Most likely you will think of family—Mom or Sis, for example—friends, and co-workers (if applicable). Start here and host a party. You can even request a senior consultant to be present to help smooth out the details. Hosting parties to show your products will either make sales or get your potential customers thinking about the merchandise.

2. YOUTUBE VIDEOS: I’m not sure if this method is allowed or not. Please check your distributor agreement to make sure it is before you try it.  If it is allowed, I suggest you start creating videos about your product line on YouTube and post new videos every single week. Create a YouTube Channel and make several hundred or several thousand videos showcasing the Scentsy product line!  These videos will rank high in the search engines and establish yourself as an expert.  As a result, people will contact you and seek YOU out.  This is a great way to get customers.  This is how I do things with my primary MLM Company.

3. STUDY SELLING: Be a student of your business.  Learn the product line, and more importantly, read some books and take some classes on selling.  This will be a small investment with a huge return.  I suggest you study Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar and Tom Hopkins.  These three guys taught me almost everything I know about selling and I am forever grateful. Please know that I’m not talking about being a high pressure, used car salesman type of person either.  I’m talking about being a professional.

4. TALK TO PEOPLE: If you get nothing else from this page, remember this Scentsy selling tip.  You have to talk to people.  There is no way around it.  If you aren’t willing to put a smile on your face, say hello, and shake someone’s hand, you won’t do very well in this business.  I suggest you make it a point to talk to AT LEAST two people a day about your products. If you do that every day, you would have talked to 730 people in one year. Think about how many customers that would lead to!

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, if you want to succeed with Scentsy, you need to learn how to sell.  Even if you don’t plan on building up a large customer base, you need to learn how to sell so you can teach your team members how to succeed.

    I just had to interject another sales technique I have noticed a lot of lately. I spotted a car with a big sticker in the back window advertising their Herbalife MLM. I see Avon reps with ads on their vehicles. The same with Mary Kay and Amway, but I have not ever spotted a Scentsy advertisement on a car.

    The reason I know these car ads work… My wife actually called one the other day. She normally would not accept someone talking to her in malls or any other ways, but she “fell” for the car advertisement. Just an idea that does work.

    One of the hugest parts of selling is just talking with people as you mentioned. I am a huge fan of the Carnegie courses which can help you break that “shy” barrier.

    A big lesson I learned in selling is to find “common ground.” If the person is talking about an aunt that is in the hospital, you may want to bring up how your uncle just got out of the hospital. Just find something that they can relate to, and by all means, listen to what they are saying.

    It is at a point that the conversation will turn to what we do for a living. This is when you bring your product into the conversation and explain the benefits. You will also want to explain why you are selling them. An emotional tug on the person will have them bending over backwards to buy something from you because they now have a new friend.
