What I’d like to do in today’s post is share some of my favorite Bob Proctor quotes from his international best-selling book You Were Born to Be Rich. The quotes are in bold and italics and are listed in sequential order. After each quote, I provide my own thoughts about it.

# 1: Consider this – money will have a greater influence on your life than almost any other commodity you can think of.
Money is very important. You need money to buy food, build highways, build churches, get an education, etc. Money is GOOD. It’s what you do with it that matters most. The only people who say money isn’t important is people who don’t have any.
# 2: Ninety-five out of a hundred settle for whatever they get, wishing they had more all the way from the cradle to the casket, never understanding they could actually have had all they wanted.
If you want something in life, you have to go get it. The things you want won’t just come to you. Decide what you want, make a game-plan, and get to work, and you can have just about anything you want in life.
# 3: Money is an effect and it must always be earned.
We get paid based on the value we bring to the marketplace. The only way to make more money legally and ethically is to offer more value to the marketplace.

# 6: You must begin to understand that the present state of your bank account, your sales, your health, your social life, your position at work, etc., is nothing more than the physical manifestation of your previous thinking. If you sincerely wish to change or improve your results in your physical world, you must change your thoughts and you must change them immediately.
Thoughts are things.We become what we think about. Focus on what you want, not what you don’t want.

Whatever you really believe you can achieve, you will achieve!

We get paid based off the value we provide in the marketplace. The only way to make more money is to serve more people, or serve people better than we currently do.

What wonderful advice. Do that long enough and you will eventually become the person you want to be. Remember, the attitude comes before the paycheck.
# 10: … No amount of reading or memorizing will make you successful in life. It is the understanding and application of the wise thought which counts.
Knowledge is overrated. What’s important is APPLIED KNOWLEDGE. You can study HOW to do something until the cows come home, but until you go out and apply that knowledge, nothing will happen.
# 11: If you can show me a person who achieves great things, I can show you a person who has great faith in himself and in his ability to achieve what he imagines.
You must believe in yourself if you want to be successful in life. You can either be your own biggest critic, or your own biggest fan. Choose wisely young grasshopper.

Never let a day go by where you don’t get a little bit better than you were the day before. Focus on continuous, never ending improvement. Do that over a sustained period of time and you can become 100%, 200%, even 1,000% better.

Don’t focus on past mistakes. Keep your goal in front of you at all times. Focus on what’s possible, not your past performance.
