Top T. Harv Eker Quotes from Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

What you will see below are my favorite T. Harv Eker quotes from his book. They are listed in no particular order. Each quote is in bold and italics. After each quote, I share my own two cents on the topic.

# 1: In my experience, what you cannot see in this world is far more powerful than anything you can see.

You don’t know what you don’t know. Once you accept that, you can move forward, learn and improve. Always keep and open mind and never stop learning and improving.

# 2: The only way to change your outer world is to change your inner world.

If you are having troubles in your life, it’s because of who you are and/or how you think. Whenever you face an issue, work on YOU. The person you see looking back at you in the mirror is the problem and the solution.

# 3: A lack of money is never, ever a problem. A lack of money is merely a symptom of what is going on underneath.

Being broke and not having money is nothing more than a RESULT of your past thinking and decisions. Poor is a mindset. Broke is a temporary financial position. To fix your financial situation you must first fix yourself.

# 4: Your programming leads to your thoughts; your thoughts lead to your feelings; your feelings lead to your actions; your actions lead to your results.

We become what we think about. Get your thinking right and everything else will fall into place. Spend as much time and money feeding your brain as you do feeding your body.

# 5: The fastest way to get rich and stay rich is to work on developing you.

If you want to change your life, work on YOU. Focus on your personal development. Become the best version of yourself possible. Your finances and business will only grow as much as you do!

# 6: Training and managing your own mind is the most important skill you could ever own, in terms of both happiness and success.

Master your thoughts and you will take control of your life. Learning how to control your thoughts and control your thinking process will change your life for the better. You can be your own worst enemy or your own greatest asset. Choose wisely!

# 7: If you are willing to do only what’s easy, life will be hard. But if you are willing to do what’s hard, life will be easy.

Do what most people do and you will get what most people get. Play it safe and you won’t accomplish much in life. Don’t be scared to take chances and step out of your comfort zone. Look at the masses and do the opposite.your outer world is a reflection of your inner world

# 8: Buying things for immediate gratification is nothing more than a futile attempt to make up for our dissatisfaction in life.

Don’t worry about keeping up with the Jones’. They don’t care about you anyway. Instead, focus on long-term wealth accumulation. Stay out of debt. Put away money for retirement. Build up your emergency fund. Buying things today to fill the void in your life does more damage than good. Take the long-term view. Cherish the past, live in the present and plan for the future!

# 9: You become financially free when your passive income exceeds your expenses.

Focus on building up a passive income that pays you month-after-month. Do this through network marketing, book royalties, storage units, real estate, intellectual property, or a variety of other methods. Once you earn enough passive income to pay your bills each month you are financially FREE, and no longer need to work a job.

# 10: There’s nothing wrong with getting a steady paycheck, unless it interferes with your ability to earn what you’re worth. There’s the rub. It usually does.

A job pays what the job is worth to the employer. If you have a job on salary you will never earn what you are worth. It’s hard to build wealth with a job. Most wealthy people own a business or have passive income. Don’t let job security keep you from financial opportunity. Keep your day job and start a side hustle on nights and weekends and use that money to invest and create passive income.

# 11: Money will only make you more of what you already are.

Give someone a lot of money and you will see their true character and personality. Money by itself is neither good nor bad. It’s the person who has the money that matters most.

# 12: Rich people are willing to promote themselves and their value. Poor people think negatively about selling and promotion.

Wealthy people understand the importance of self promotion and knowing what they are worth. Poor people think selling and self promotion are bad. You are your own brand whether you work for yourself or not.

# 13: Rich people associate with positive, successful people. Poor people associate with negative or unsuccessful people.

Who you hang out with and spend most of your time with will ultimately determine where you end up in life. Surround yourself with people who encourage, uplift and bring out the best in you.

# 14: You will be paid in direct proportion to the value you deliver in the market place.

This is by far the most important piece of advice on this page, as I see it.  If you want to make more money, provide more value to the marketplace. The more people you serve and help, the more money you will make.T Harv Eker quote

# 15: The number one reason most people don’t get what they want is that they don’t know what they want.

Knowing what you want in life and having it written down on paper is more than half the battle. Set new goals each year and create a game plan to reach those goals. You can’t achieve the goal you don’t set.

# 16: Rich people believe I create my life. Poor people believe life happens to me.

You can either plan out your life and get what you want or take what you are given. Smart people make a plan and follow it.

# 17: The only time you are actually growing is when you are uncomfortable.

Do things that make you uncomfortable and stretch you out of your comfort zone. That is when you will grow, improve and learn new skills. Success begins outside of your comfort zone.

  1. I love #7, makes so much sense. Everyone should print that out and read it every day in order to change their business for the better. It reminds you to get out of your comfort zone from time to time.

I also like #17. When you do something new, you often feel uncomfortable, but that’s a good sign, it’s a sign that you’re getting out of your comfort zone, and that you’re doing something that’s going to change you.

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. The moment I understood that I was the common denominator in all of the hardships I was facing, the better my life became. From that moment on I realized that I could change my circumstances by bettering who I was. Too often we fall into victim mode where everyone else is doing something to us. But where is the personal responsibility there? When you become a better person, you attract better people in your life and your expectations become higher. You tolerate less of the things you shouldn’t and pursue more of the things you should. Great point mentioned in #2.

  3. I notice a very common denominator all throughout these quotes. That is ME. It is the person looking back at us in the mirror. If something is going wrong, it is me. If it is going right, it is me ( or my wife–LOL).

One thing I learned many years ago is: we cannot change anyone else. The only person we can change is ourselves.

I really enjoyed these quotes, and I am making a note of Mr Eker’s book so that I read it in the future. I believe I can get a lot from this book. Thank you for sharing this information Chuck.
