This post will discuss my top 10 Internet MLM Marketing Tips of all time.
I’ve learned these tips by studying successful internet marketers during the past five years, and through trial and error.
They are listed in no particular order.
1) Never Promote a Replicated MLM Company Website: Never promote a company replicated website.
Instead, you need your own unique website that is different than everyone else online.
With thousands of distributors in your company promoting the same website, you are doomed for failure, right from the beginning.
If you use a replicated website, you will never get free search engine traffic, because your website is considered duplicate content.
And there’s a good chance that anyone who has visited your website has already visited another distributor’s website (in the same company) beforehand.
And with a replicated website you won’t be able to generate your own leads, either.
Your better option is to get your own unique capture page.
2) Never Lead with Your Business Opportunity: The Internet is flooded with people pitching their business opportunity.
Visit Facebook or do any Internet search and you will be inundated with people telling you that they’ve found the best business opportunity ever.
The pros don’t waste their time promoting their business opportunity on the front end, so neither should you.
You should promote a low generic training product, such as an eBook, system or lead program instead of your business opportunity.
As people purchase this item from you or request more information, you can offer your business opportunity to them, AFTER you’ve established a relationship with them.
This strategy will help pay for your advertising costs while you build your list.
3) Use a Funded Proposal: A funded proposal is when you promote a generic training product (as mentioned in the previous tip) to your target market.
The purpose of a funded proposal is to generate up-front commissions that reduce or eliminate your advertising costs while you build a list.
Without a funded proposal, you will go broke fast trying to promote your business opportunity.
4) Use an Auto-Responder: If you are trying to build your network marketing business online, you need an auto-responder.
An auto-responder allows you to create pre-written e-mail messages that are automatically sent to your prospects at a frequency that you determine.
An auto-responder allows you to leverage your time and build your list 24/7.
Once someone subscribes to your email list, your auto-responder takes over and works for you on complete auto-pilot.
Of all the tools in my tool kit, my auto-responder is hands down the most important and most valuable business building tool.
5) Test Your Advertising: To achieve success in any business, you need to advertise.
As you use different advertising methods, you need a system to test and track your advertising.
You need to create unique links so you can find out which ads have the best conversion rates and produce the most leads and sales.
That way, you can ditch the losers and and keep the winners.
If you don’t test and track your advertising, you will never know what is working well and what isn’t.
Smart marketers test everything in their advertising to include method, source, conversion rate, cost per lead, cost per sale, and much more.

At a minimum, you want a training program, a leads program and a system to promote.
You need a way to earn money, even when people tell you NO to your business opportunity.
Ideally, you want three to five income streams.
It typically takes a few years to build up a large MLM Income, so you need other income streams while you are doing that.
By selling a leads program, a system, and training courses, you can really diversify your business and have multiple streams of income right from day one.
7) Learn How to Generate Traffic: The # 1 skill on any online marketer is the ability to generate traffic to their website or offer.
There are many different ways to generate traffic.
Personally, I am a huge fan of paying for traffic, because you have complete control over it and can turn it on or off whenever you want.
Free traffic is great, too.
But it normally takes a lot of time to get free traffic.
Some of the free methods include blogging, video marketing, article marketing and social media.
I suggest you pick one paid and one free traffic strategy that makes sense to you and do nothing else for the next 12 months.
Focus your efforts and become a master with those strategies.
I even suggest you take a course or two on generating traffic, so you can learn the ropes.
8) Focus on Building a List: Right from the start of your online business building efforts, make sure you focus your time and money on building a list.
You want to start capturing names and emails on your capture page right away.
The benefits of building a list are huge.
First and foremost, most people will not join your business opportunity right away.
But if you keep in touch with them on a regular basis, some of them will join eventually.
Additionally, when you have a list you can promote your training program, system, lead program and other affiliate products whenever you want.
This provides multiple streams of income.
The money really is in the list.
My list (auto-responder) is the greatest asset in my business.
9) Don’t Quit: Temporary failure is part of the process of achieving success in any business.
Most successful entrepreneurs fail several times (or more) before they ever make it big.
It’s unrealistic to think you can start a network marketing business (or any other type of business) and achieve immediate success.
You need to stick around long enough to learn the ropes and educate yourself.
At a bare bones minimum, make a commitment to spend at least three years of consistent, daily effort building your network marketing business, before you will consider joining a different company or quitting for good.
Good things take time.
Most people who get involved in our industry quit within 90 days.
From my experience, you can’t build any type of successful business in 90 days or less.
It’s true: quitters never win and winners never quit.
10) Find a Mentor: This could easily be my best tip on this list.
Seek out a mentor who has already achieved success building their MLM Business online.
You need someone who knows what they are doing and is willing to help you succeed.
A good mentor will save you time and money when you are building your network marketing business online.
To find a mentor, look in your upline first.
Look far enough up your upline until you find someone who is successful.
If you can’t find a good mentor who builds their business online, look outside your company for a mentor.
You could hire a business coach or even consider joining a new company, with the the mentor of your choosing.
I have many mentors, and I’ve never personally met any of them.
My mentors include Stone Evans, Mike Dillard, Russell Brunson, Dan Kennedy, Ewen Chia and more.
Remember, it’s much easier to achieve success in MLM if you work with someone who has already achieved success.
BONUS Tip: As a special bonus tip, I would include “educate yourself.”
As a new network marketer or entrepreneur, you need to educate yourself.
Successful business owners read books, listen to audio programs, have mentors, attend seminars, subscribe to trade publications and do whatever they can to educate themselves about their industry.
Make a point to read 2 books a month, listen to one CD program a week and attend 2-3 seminars per year (at a minimum).
Study sales and marketing as much as possible.
Read books about the industry and strive to learn something new each day.

Obviously, there are other things you can do to achieve success in your network marketing business.
But studying these helpful tips will get you off to a good start.
