In today’s training, I will teach you about the power of focus in network marketing. This training will benefit you in many areas of your life, not just your network marketing business.

One of the biggest things I see people struggle with is their focus. They struggle to stay focused on one thing long-term. They’re scatterbrained. They’re busy chasing shiny objects. Most people have short attention spans. Or they expect instant gratification.

I believe our current “fast-paced” society keeps most people unfocused. There are so many distractions competing for our attention. There are so many things going on in our lives. But here’s what I’ve also learned. Successful people in every endeavor are 100% focused on what they’re doing.

Take a moment to think about top athletes, such as an Olympian. They are 100% focused on their sport. They do stuff every single day to improve themselves and achieve their goals. They take the long-term view. Everything they say, think, and do supports their vision and goals because they are focused.

The same thing holds true with successful business owners. Their business is their baby. It has their 100% focus, especially in the early stages.

Remember this, we get what we focus on. That’s why it’s important to focus on what you want. That’s why you must have priorities and keep the main thing the main thing. If you’re focusing on a variety of things, it will be hard to succeed in any of them.

The Power of Focus in Network Marketing

I see a lot of network marketers trying to promote three, four, even five different income streams at once. Sadly, most of these networkers fail miserably in ALL their business endeavors.

Why? When you try to focus on several things at once, you dilute your focus. You end up spending 30% of your time on one business, 50% on another business, and 20% on another business. You’d be much better off if you just focused 100% on one business until you got it going.

Think about a tiger for a minute. They’re one of my favorite animals. Think about when a tiger is hunting its prey. It is 100% focused on the hunt, and nothing else. It will stalk its prey waiting for exactly the right moment to strike. Sometimes, it will sit there and wait hours before it makes its move.

It’s waiting for the perfect opportunity to make the kill. It’s got a plan. Its laser focused. And in most cases, once they make their move, they achieve the desired result. They get the kill. Of course, they don’t make the kill every time, but they do MOST of the time.

Laser focus is why tigers have a high kill rate when they’re hunting. They focus on ONE thing. If you want to be more focused in your network marketing business, you must adopt that “tiger” mindset.

Steps to Improve Your Focus

You must identify the BIG THING you want to achieve. You must know your why and you must keep your vision in front of you. You must FOCUS on these things. If you can’t create this type of focus in your business, you will fail. Life will get in the way and will throw you off course.

If you want to learn how to focus more on your network marketing business, here are a few helpful tips that work for me. Maybe they’ll work for you too.

Number one is to decide what you want. In other words, what is your goal with your business? What exactly do you want to achieve? And why is it important to you? If you can’t answer those questions, there’s no way you will ever get focused.

To get focused, you need a daily “to do” list. Identify the few most important tasks you must do each day to grow your business. Prioritize those tasks and schedule them during your day. Never, ever let a day go by where you don’t complete ALL those tasks.

Next, you must be persistent and consistent. When you do something daily, it becomes a habit. Habits ultimately determine our success or failure. We all have good and bad habits, but if you want to achieve success in your network marketing business, you must develop good habits.

You must learn how to eliminate distractions. There will always be distractions competing for your time and attention. That’s normal. Here’s what I suggest you do. When it’s time to work on your business, do one activity at a time. Also, turn off your cell phone, email, and notifications while you work. Focus on the task at hand. Go somewhere quiet and do not let anything distract you.

Another tip that helps me focus is to batch my activities. Think of all the business tasks you must do each week and try to do similar tasks at the same time. For example, create your weekly social media posts one day per week, and schedule them. Another day, create your YouTube videos for the week and schedule them to be published on different days. Batching activities will save you time, let you work smartly, and keep you focused.

My next tip to stay focused in network marketing is to track your activity. Keep track of your income producing activities each day. Write it down. This will be an eye-opening experience for most people. Keep track of how many leads you generate, how much content you create, how many people watch a presentation, how many join, etc. These things are your key performance indicators. Knowing these numbers will help you identify where you need to improve and what you must focus on.

Finally, create a vision board and look at it daily. This will help keep your why and goals at the forefront of your mind. Keep a vision board on the refrigerator, one by your bed, one on the bathroom mirror, and one in your vehicle. Visualize your goals, dreams, and vision whenever you can.

We’re all busy. We all have distractions. We all have different things competing for our time and attention, but focus is what often separates success and failure.

One Last Tip

The beauty of network marketing is you don’t have to be laser focused forever. However, when you are just getting started, you need to be 100% focused for the first 12 to 24 months. This will help you build a solid foundation for your business and get it off the ground. Once you’ve built the foundation, you can resort to a more moderate pace and have a more balanced life.
