The Golden Rule in Network Marketing

Most people know the Golden Rule. I think it is pretty good advice.  The Golden Rule basically says treat others the way you want to be treated.  I think it’s better to take that rule one step further and treat others the way THEY want to be treated.

Therefore, the Golden Rule in Network Marketing is to treat others the way that they want to be treated.  What does that really mean?  I think people want to be treated with respect. They don’t want you to lie to them and make false promises.  They don’t want you to hype them up.  They want you to listen to them.  They don’t want to be pressured.  They don’t want you to abandon them, once you get them signed up!  And they don’t want you to look down upon them or treat them bad because they aren’t interested in what you have to offer.

I think there are a lot of valuable lessons here that every network marketer could (and should) follow.  Unfortunately, I think a lot of network marketers really mess this up!

We have so many amateurs in our industry doing stupid and bad things that really ruin it for everyone else.  We have some people who lie, cheat and steal, just to get ahead in their business.

Yes, most people do the right thing.  But one bad apple can ruin it for everyone else.

Starting today, I would encourage you to be a Network Marketing Professional.

I would encourage you to treat every prospect, team member, customer, and person who tells you NO as nice as you would treat your own mother or daughter.

That would be my Golden Rule in Network Marketing.

You see, karma is a you know what.

What goes around comes around.  But even if it didn’t, wouldn’t be nice just to treat everyone with respect?  Wouldn’t that make the world a nicer place?

Whenever you are talking with someone, remember the Golden Rule of Network Marketing.

Whenever someone quits your team, remember the Golden Rule of Network Marketing.

Whenever someone stands you up, remember the Golden Rule of Network Marketing.

When your Uncle Lou tells you that you are crazy, remember the Golden Rule of Network Marketing.

Never STOOP to someone else’s level.

Never let someone else make you say or do something you will regret later on down the road.

When you let them do that, they win!

Don’t let them win.

Never let your success make you someone you aren’t and never let your failures bring out the worst in you.

Eat, sleep and breathe the Golden Rule of Network Marketing and good things will happen to you.

This was a great post Chuck. I really hope people read it and understand what you are saying. If we would follow this rule in everything we do, we could all make this world a much more satisfying living experience. So many people are thinking about what they can get and how they can get it RIGHT NOW. They don’t consider how their attitudes and actions will affect them in the future. People remember how they are treated and as you say, Karma is a &^$%(.

    Good post.

Great point! It’s so simple but so true, treat others better like your mom or daughter (I like that). I think sometimes people get so on edge because they put money into something and are afraid they won’t make the returns that they forget to focus on relationships. If you have relationships with people the business will come. And even those who turn you down, and quit can always come back but if you leave a sour taste in their mouth you have lost a business deal forever.
