Here is the problem with most MLM Opportunity Meetings. In most cases they are WAY too long, at least 60 to 90 minutes. Most prospects don’t have 60 to 90 minutes to waste, so many folks will leave half way through the meeting (or they won’t show up at all).
Normally, you have a successful distributor doing the business presentation. The speaker spends most of her time talking about all the DETAILS of the business. They talk about the owner’s wife and where she went to college. They talk about the ingredients of the products. They talk about how great the company is and where it is headed. They talk about how successful they are in the business!
I could go on and on, but there is one trend you will quickly notice. The prospect doesn’t CARE about any of these things. The prospect has their own problems and they don’t care about where the owner of the business went to college, how great the company is, how good the company treats its employees, etc.
What the prospect cares about is themselves! And in most cases the presenter totally misses that point. Instead of presenting the products or opportunity as a SOLUTION to the prospect’s problems, they just ramble about crap the prospect doesn’t care about. And they BORE them out of their mind!
Sure, some distributors do a good presentation during the business opportunity meeting. They keep it to 20-30 minutes. They focus on the benefits. They show the products and business as a SOLUTION to their prospects’ problems. Simply put, they focus on the prospect.
But most people mess it up! And that’s one of the reasons people don’t join the business. The prospects don’t think they can do what you do and they DON’T WANT TO do what you do!
Even worse, at most opportunity meetings, most of the people in the crowd are ALREADY distributors in the business. They’ve heard the same presentation at least 100 times and they are BORED out of their mind as well.
They’re also tired of attending meetings every week and not seeing their business grow.
Simply put, I’ve come to the conclusion that opportunity meetings are a waste of time.
That’s where sizzle sessions come in handy! A sizzle session is nothing more than 3-10 (or more) distributors getting together to share ideas. They meet at someone’s home, a local coffee shop or even a restaurant and they talk about building the business. They can even meet up on SKYPE or Google Hangouts.
They talk about what’s working and what’s not working in the business. They ask questions and get answers. They help each other. Not only is it informative but it’s fun! They break bread together and enjoy the fellowship. The time is both productive and fun.
Distributors are even encouraged to bring prospects to the meeting. The prospect can enjoy a nice meal or snack and observe the other people having fun and helping each other. As a result, the prospect gets excited and wants to be part of the group/business.
Do you see the difference? I hope so.
From this day forward I encourage you do to sizzle sessions with your team, instead of opportunity meetings. Meet once a week or twice a month and share ideas. Meet at a nice restaurant that’s affordable and reserve one of the rooms. Encourage your team members to bring a list of questions AND bring a guest with them.
This is the best way to go as I see it. Even if you are skeptical about sizzle sessions, give it a try and see what type of results you get. You have nothing to lose by doing that.
