Sizzle Card Marketing: Grow Your MLM Business with Sizzle Cards

Sizzle Card Marketing is the process of marketing your network marketing business with sizzle cards.  A sizzle card is a promotional message on a piece of paper that is a little bit bigger than a business card, but smaller than a postcard.  It typically has a catchy headline, a few bullet points and a strong call to action.

Here’s an example of what a sizzle card might say:

“Discover How to Get Healthy and Create a Plan B!”

  • Earn an extra income without quitting your day job
  • Full time or part-time
  • Free to join, free mentorship and free training
  • Great products at fair prices!

Benefits of Sizzle Card Marketing

Sizzle Card marketing is a really simple and inexpensive marketing strategy that anyone can do. You can get started with sizzle card marketing by spending $75 to $100 to have 5,000 sizzle cards printed at your local office supply store.

Once your sizzle cards are printed, you need to set aside some time each week to leave your sizzle cards in high foot traffic areas. I recommend you hand out 500 to 1,000 sizzle cards per week.

You could probably do that by working 2-3 hours per week.  If you’re smart about it, you can incorporate it into your day to day life.  Whenever you are out and about living life, doing errands, or going somewhere, bring your sizzle cards with you and leave them on bulletin boards, gas pumps, book stores, etc.

I recommend you make a list of places to leave your sizzle cards ahead of time. Some good places include flea markets, fairs, job fairs, trade shows, restaurants, bulletin boards, convenience stores, fast food places, gas stations, the library and more.  Just make sure you ask the business owner or manager on site if it is okay to leave your sizzle cards on the bulletin board.  Otherwise, you will get a lot of angry calls!

Advice and Tips

When you get started with sizzle card marketing, you might not see great results right away. It might take a few weeks for people to respond. Many people will pick up your card, bring it home, and forget about it for a few weeks. It might take some people 2-3 weeks to respond. Others will respond right away.

As long as you stay consistent with your sizzle card marketing, you will build momentum in your business. You will have a steady flow of leads to follow up with each week.  Just think how fast your business would grow if you had 10 to 20 people contacting you each week!

One way to improve your success rate is to create a nice, catchy sizzle card. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it does need a good headline, a few benefits of your offer, and a strong call to action. It should also be on florescent paper, such as bright pink or bright yellow.  There’s really no need to use fancy graphics.

Ideally, you should send your prospects to a pre-recorded, toll-free message where they can listen to your message and leave their contact information if they are interested. You can also send people to your website or capture page.  If you’re not sure what to do, do a split test and see which type of call to action produces better results.  From personal experience, I’ve found that toll free numbers are more effective than sending people to websites.

There are plenty of home business owners who have expanded their businesses with sizzle card marketing. It’s worked for them and I know it can work for you. You simply need a game-plan and the discipline to hand out sizzle cards consistently.  The more cards you hand out, the more leads you will get, and the more people you will find to partner with you in your business.

Response Rates with Sizzle Cards

At this point, you might be wondering what type of response rates you can expect using sizzle cards to grow your network marketing business.  I have to tell you right upfront that individual results will vary.  From my own experience, I normally got 1-2 calls for every 100 sizzle cards I distributed.  That might not sound like much, but if you can hand out 1,000 sizzle cards per week that’s 10-20 leads per week at a very affordable cost per lead.

Final Thoughts

The bottom line is that sizzle cards are an effective, low cost lead generation strategy that anyone can do!  That’s what makes them so great.  With a small marketing budget and a willingness to hustle, you can easily hand out 500 to 1000 sizzle cards each week and have people calling you, or visiting your website, to learn more about what you have to offer.  I think it’s a great way to market your business.

  1. With sizzle cards, I would also like to make a first impression, that said what I mean is that I would like to have a fairly and moderately designed card that would not not shouting CHEAP…and you are telling to come make money, your card should at least show some form of the money made…

  2. I believe a person could do this quite inexpensively. If you have your own printer, you could design and print many of these for a very low cost. Dropping in them in locations where your target market hangs out will probably get you some great leads and sales. I am considering something such as this for my books. I believe it is a great idea that just isn’t used very much. Thanks for sharing this Chuck.

Do you have a way of finding out if people went to your website or called because of the card? How do you know which people came because of these cards?

  3. This is such a simple, genius, and inexpensive idea for marketing. I am definitely going to use this one. However, I think that I will probably start by buying a ream of neon card stock at the local office supply store, and then print and cut a stack of my own, and see how that goes. This is a great alternative to passing out those expensive business cards. Thank you for the tip.
