I want to share a simple MLM concept with you that will hopefully change the way you think about your network marketing business.
I did a training call with my team last night and shared some simple advice that I think will benefit any network marketer.
I wanted to pay it forward and share it with you as well.
I was talking to a very successful rep the other day and I asked him what was his key to success.
What MLM concept worked best for him?
His answer really surprised me… although it does make a lot of sense.
His answer goes against what most reps in our industry focus on.
He said that a lot of people focus on the big money.
Everyone’s trying to get rich quick.
Everyone’s looking for the heavy hitter.
Everyone’s looking for an easy way to sponsor people.
Everyone wants a push button system.
While those strategies might work for some people, they didn’t make much business sense to him.
Most people are not heavy hitters.
Most people are not serious and committed.
Most people are not one percenters.
People looking to get rich quick will quit the business quickly if they don’t get rich quick.
Know anyone like that?
He said the secret to success was to do the following things.
First off, fall in love with the company’s products.
Be with a company with products that you would use even if you didn’t want to pursue the business.
If the products don’t make sense neither will the business.
If you’re just buying the products to qualify for commissions you are with the wrong company.
Next, refer a few customers and so you make enough money to get your products for free each month.
In most companies, people need to refer somewhere between 3 and 8 people to make enough to cover the cost of their purchase.
If you love the products and you get them for free each month, you will stay a loyal customer/distributor (in most cases anyway).
Finally, help as many people on your team as you can get their products for free each month.
Be product focused and get customers, rather than just try to get distributors.
Help 20 to 30 people get their products for free to make $1k to $2k per month.
Help 30 to 60 people get their products for free to make $2k to $3k per month.
Help 100 or more people get their products for free to make $5k to $15k per month.
Yes, these numbers will vary by compensation plan and the average order size per customer, but not by a huge factor.
Of course, not everyone you refer will refer others, or even let you help them refer others.
But, I can assure you that if your customer really loves the products, there is a HIGH likelihood they will refer others IF you don’t pressure them… and if you lead them through the process.
To me, it just makes sense to be product focused and customer focused.
Happy customers are the lifeblood of any business.
Without customers you don’t have a business, not a legitimate one anyway.
When someone gets their products for free each month, and they love the products, they will not quit or stop ordering (not likely anyway).
