Sample MLM Phone Script for Leads or Cold Market

Today, I want to share a sample MLM Phone Script with you.  While I am NOT a big fan of using a script, I do think they can offer the new person some value until they feel comfortable on their own.  This script is designed for calling people that you do not know.  You might need to modify it a bit for your own company, or if you are calling people in your warm market.  Enjoy.

Ring, Ring.

Hi, is John there?

Hi, John.  My name is Chuck and I am calling you from my home office in Tampa, Florida.  How are you doing tonight?

That’s great (or sorry to hear that).

John, do you have two minutes?  (If they answer yes, proceed.  If they answer no, ask them a good time to call back and end call).

John, we don’t know each other right now.  The purpose of my call tonight is to ask you two questions.  Does that sound reasonable? (If they answer yes, proceed.  If they answer no, end the call).

The first question I have for you is:

“Would you be interested in learning how to supplement or replace your job income?” (If they answer yes, proceed to business close.  If they answer no, immediately ask question two about the products).

The second question is:

“Would you be interested in learning more about getting healthy and improving your wellness? (If they answer yes, proceed to product close.  If they answer no, end the conversation and thank them for their time).

Business Close

John, rather than try to explain everything to you about my business on the phone, would it be okay if I emailed you some information that explained more about what I do in greater detail?  (Do not go into selling mode or tell the name of your company or try to close them on the phone.  If they answer yes, proceed.  If they answer no, end the call).

John, if I sent you the email today, when would you get the chance to review it?”

WAIT FOR THEIR ANSWER

Great, you said you could review it on Tuesday at 5 pm central time.  Would it be okay if I followed up with you on Tuesday at 7 pm central time to answer your questions and give you any additional information you might need?

Great.

When I call you back, I’m just calling to answer your questions.  I don’t want to waste your time or my time, so can you promise me that you will take my call when I call you back?  The last thing I want us doing is playing phone tag.

Great.

Just so you know John, this might be a good fit for you, and it might not be.  You won’t know unless you take a look.  If it’s not for you, all you need to do is tell me you’re not interested when I call you back.  I’m not going to try to convince you or pressure you to do anything.  If you are interested, or have questions or want more information, I can give it to you at that time.  Does that sound reasonable?

Great.

What is the best email to send the information to (confirm their email)?

Thanks.

I’ll send you the information in a few minutes from the following email address ___________________.

I appreciate your time today and I look forward to your follow up call Tuesday at 7 pm central time.   Have a great day, John.  Bye.

Great, you said you could review the email on Tuesday at 8 pm eastern time.  Would it be okay if I followed up with you on Wednesday at 6 pm eastern time to answer your questions about the products and give you any additional product information you might need?

Great.

Just so you know John, these products might be a good fit for you, and they might not be.  You won’t know unless you take a look.  If they’re not for you, all you need to do is tell me you’re not interested when I call you back, and I won’t call you again.  If you are interested, or have questions or want more information, I can give it to you at that time.  Does that sound reasonable?

Important Notes & Tips

  • Do not try to sell on the phone
  • Your job is to sell the appointment or email invitation, that’s it
  • Try to stay on the phone less than five minutes with each person you talk to
  • Ask questions and listen
  • Be calm; contain your enthusiasm; have confidence
  • ALWAYS confirm the follow-up appointment before you get off the phone
  • Don’t let the prospect talk you into giving them information on the phone

Final Thoughts

I hope you enjoyed my sample MLM Phone Script.  Feel free to modify this any way as needed or use it as is.  Your key to success when making phone calls is to be focused and to the point.  You don’t want to try and sell anyone.  Instead, your job is to sift and sort through your prospects and send additional information to the interested prospects.  The real money is in the follow up. Good luck.  And remember, the phone doesn’t weigh five hundred pounds.  It’s actually your best business tool.
