Today, I want to share the top 10 Royal Crown Diamond success tips to grow your MLM Business. These are tips from a VERY successful distributor in one highly respected MLM Company.
I’m always trying to learn new things. I read every MLM Book I can find. I watch YouTube videos, listen to tapes and CDs and scour blogs and articles to look for ANYTHING that can give me a cutting edge over my competition. I encourage you to do the same thing: be a student of your business.
Two days ago, I watched a Facebook live training by a MLM Millionaire. She is a Royal Crown Diamond in her MLM Company. This lady built a business doing over $1.5 million in monthly volume, in about a year and a half, and she had no prior MLM experience.
I took tons of notes. The nuggets I learned from her are summarized in bold. After each lesson I will share my own two cents on the topic. Keep in mind, the lessons are a summary of what she said, not an exact quote.

I hope you enjoy these powerful lessons.
# 1: Run Your Business Like a Fortune 500® Company, Not Like a MLM Business
Most network marketers have no clue about running a successful business.
To be successful in any type of business, you should have a WRITTEN marketing and business plan. You want a daily mode of operations. You need set business hours. You need a system and game-plan and you must follow it EVERY SINGLE DAY.
You will not be successful building a network marketing business in your SPARE time. You won’t build any successful business in your spare time. It must be a priority. It doesn’t have to be your # 1 priority, but it must come right after your family, faith and job.
You must work your business EVERY SINGLE DAY. You must be OPEN for business every single day if you want to make money. Thinking about your business does not cut the mustard. You must get in production mode and stay in production mode, DAILY.
Also, you need to watch your cash flow. You want a separate checking account for your business. You need to make INCOME projections. You need to track your monthly profit and loss statement. You want an accountant, bookkeeper and lawyer as your trusted advisors. This advice applies to ANYONE running ANY type of business.
There is an old saying in this industry:
Treat it like a hobby and it will pay you like a hobby; treat it like a business and it will pay you like a business.
I would chime in and say that hobbies COST you money, rather than make you money. Treat your business at least as seriously as you do your job.
There is another quote that really resonates with me. It goes like this:
This is the best paying business in the world if you treat it like a business, and the lowest paying business in the world if you treat it like a hobby.
# 2: The Wider You Go the Less People You Help
For the past few years, I have been under the impression to go wide fast, to put everyone I sponsor on my first level. I had the mentality to throw lots of mud against the wall and see what sticks.
After personally recruiting hundreds of people, I don’t believe that is the best way to go. That might work in direct sales, but not in network marketing.
Look at your company’s compensation plan and determine how many legs you need to build to make it to your company’s top rank.
Don’t build it for people and create a welfare mentality in your team, but give people an added boost and something to lose. Creating success is about creating synergy and team work.
I would rather have five legs with 100 people in each leg, than have 500 people on my frontline.
Fear of loss is the best motivator. When people have something to lose, they will stay in the business!
Build your business from the bottom up and watch it burn. When you work with the newest, most excited distributor at the deepest level in your organization, you help and motivate the most amount of people.
# 3: Treat Your Business Like a Job
Most people in our industry are HIDING. They’re in the Witness Protection Program. None of their friends and family even knows about their business.
We are a word of mouth business. You should be talking about your products and business like your LIFE depends upon it.
As a some-timer, you must talk to AT LEAST five people per day. As a part-timer, you must talk to AT LEAST 10 people per day. As a full-timer, you must approach AT LEAST 30 to 50 NEW prospects each day. Failing to hit these numbers will cause you to fail in your business.
Part of being an entrepreneur is self-promotion. If you aren’t willing to tell people what you do, why would you expect anyone to do business with you or refer people to you?
You go to work every single day. Why won’t you at least approach five to ten people a day about something that can give you time and money freedom?
Make it a point to bring up your products and business opportunity in every conversation you have with people. You can do it without being annoying or pushy. Your only job is to make sure they know what you do, not to try and sell them.
After all, you never really know where or when you will find your next ACE. Maybe the person you are talking with is actually LOOKING for an opportunity, or would benefit from your company’s products or services.
# 4: Be Smart on Social Media
Most days I dread going on social media because I know I will have to personally witness hundreds of network marketers promoting their business the wrong way.
Promoting your business on social media is not about spamming people. Don’t post annoying things on your friends’ timelines. Don’t tag people about your products. Don’t post your link or talk about your products and business all the time.
Instead of trying to be interesting, why not just be INTERESTED IN OTHERS? Post things of value. Engage in conversations. Draw people in using the curiosity approach!
Your goal is to attract people, not repel them. You want to attract people to who you are and what you do.
If I was going to give anyone just ONE social media tip, I would tell you to do less of it and go have a real connection with a real human being.
Don’t make the mistake thinking that surfing Facebook is actually helping grow your business. It’s not!
If you are set on using social media, CREATE A WRITTEN MARKETING PLAN. Have a list of a few critical things you will do each day to really move your business forward.
Spend 15-20 minutes each day, get these tasks done, and then turn off social media and go connect with people. One final tip would be to meet people online, and then immediately take the relationship offline, by phone or SKYPE.
# 5: Be Yourself
There is only one person EXACTLY like you in the entire world. That person is you. We are all unique creations. Each one of us has special talents and abilities. Do not try to be like someone else.
Be authentic and be yourself. No, you’re not perfect. Neither am I. Like you, I am a work in progress.
Just know that if you be yourself you will attract the right people into your life and business. No matter what you do you will never attract everyone, so why worry about it?
Be honest, be sincere and be authentic. Treat people well and be NICE to everyone you meet.
In addition to being yourself, work on your personal development. Your business will only grow as much as you do!
# 6: Refuse to Fail
Most people are weenies and throw in the towel at the first sign of defeat. It’s easy to quit and that’s what most people do. To succeed at anything in life on a grand scale, including MLM, you must have the “I can, I will, I shall mentality.”
You must be willing to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.
When you get married, you say “for better or worse, till death do us part.” You don’t go into marriage saying “I’ll try it and if it gets tough I will just quit.” You make a vow that you will make it work no matter what.
Sadly, most folks don’t take their wedding vows very seriously, yet we expect these same people to be committed to their MLM Business.
Folks, nothing in life will just be handed to you. Nothing ever goes exactly as planned. Nothing worth accomplishing is fast, free or easy. If you really want something, you have to go get it. You will have ups and downs, but you MUST persist. That is the key.
Every successful person I know FAILED for YEARS, sometimes DECADES, before they had their first major breakthrough. Instead of “succeeding” their way to success, they “failed” their way to success.
Get mentally tough, keep your vision in front of you at all times, and get up every time you are knocked down. You WILL get knocked down. That’s life folks. That’s business.
# 7: You Don’t Get to Choose the Timeline for Success
We live in a society where people expect instant gratification. We want it and we want it now. As a result, most people are impatient and expect things given to them instantly.
When it comes to network marketing we are told it is a two to five-year plan for financial freedom. That is assuming you are ALL IN and contacting lots of new prospects each day.
Two to five years to change your life and potentially become financially free is a great deal. Remember, the time will go by anyway, whether you build the business or not.
It’s not a two-month plan or a two-week plan or two-day plan. TWO…TO… FIVE…YEARS. I see so many folks order once or twice and then give up because they aren’t making money.
No legitimate business works that way. You have to lay the foundation, which normally takes a couple of years. Most business owners take a COUPLE of YEARS just to get profitable. The real beauty of our industry is that you can, and should be profitable from your first month.
Remember, it takes time to build anything worthwhile. It took you at least four years to graduate college and probably took you at least a year or two to really win the love of your current spouse.
Why would you expect to be making tons of money in a new business venture within a few months, even a year or two?
# 8: Help Your Team Rank Advance & Get Paid
As leaders we have the responsibility to help our serious people get paid. That means we work with them and create a synergy.
The more people you can help rank advance and make money, the more money you will make. That is the real beauty of our business model. We only get paid when we help other people become successful. The quickest way to your next rank advancement is to help your people rank advance.
# 9: Send 50 Handwritten Notes & 10 Gifts Per Month
I’ve been sending out handwritten notes for years. I try to send out minimum 2-3 each day. This lady talked about the importance of sending out 50 handwritten notes each month and giving 10 inexpensive gifts each month.
I think this is a very valuable lesson because so few people actually do it. When was the last time you got a handwritten note in the mail or a special gift for no reason at all?
This is a great way to differentiate yourself and show people that you care. I personally went to Vistaprint® and had some custom stationary made with my name, photo and business information. I send notes to prospects, customers, team members, friends and family.
It’s a great, inexpensive way to stand out in the crowd and make people feel appreciated.
# 10: Don’t Be Desperate
Have posture. Believe in yourself and believe in what you are doing. When you are desperate your prospect can sense it, just like a dog can smell fear.
NO ONE wants to do business with someone who is desperate. People want to do business with people who believe in themselves and what they are doing.
Remember, you don’t need any one specific person. You are ultimately looking for people who are looking.
I think the best way to develop posture is to learn marketing so you have a never ending supply of prospects to talk with. When you have tons of leads you don’t care who gets in and who doesn’t get in. That’s when the business becomes fun.
Read some books on marketing, direct response marketing and lead generation. It is a great skill to develop.

I like the comments by the Royal Crown Diamond about treating your business like a Fortune 500 Company.
We have been taught that this is just a part time I might make some money I might not kinda business.
Work your business everyday, be open everyday. Treat it like a business and you will be paid like a business.
Awesome article.
Glad you liked it Al. Even part-timers can treat their business like a real business. It’s not about working around the clock. It’s about having a game plan, strategy and working smart.
