In today’s post, I’d like to talk to you about about the term: Plan B Network Marketing.
This is a popular search term online. Obviously, people want to know if network marketing is a good idea. In the paragraphs below, I’d like to share my two cents on the topic.
I have learned two valuable lessons in life about achieving “career” success.
- Focus is critical
- You need a Plan B
In other words, it’s vital to pick something you love, commit to it, learn everything you can about it, and stay the course. Every successful person I’ve met was 100% focused on their chosen career. They were all in.
However, everything in the world is constantly changing. Industries go away. Interests change. Priorities change. People lose their ability to work. People get divorced. People start new careers. People change. Companies go out of business.
As a result, it’s vital to have a Plan B. Even if everything is perfect today, who knows what the future will look like? If nothing else, your Plan B gives you options while you focus on your Plan A. Or it creates enough income so you can change careers and pursue something you love.
What is a Plan B?
Think of a Plan B as your back-up plan or contingency plan. It’s an option in case things you have planned don’t work out as anticipated. It’s a second stream of income you build up over a period of years, which gives you OPTIONS in life.
Here are a few examples of a Plan B, just to give you some ideas:
- Start a part-time business
- Go to night school to learn new skills
- Take a part-time job in a different industry than your full-time job
- Learn a new trade
- Learn how to day trade FOREX, crypto, or stocks
- Put aside money each month so you have a nest egg
Why You Need a Plan B?
Everyone needs a Plan B. Whether you are a millionaire, a doctor, an accountant, a stay at home mom, or hourly worker, you need a Plan B.
Nothing in life ever goes exactly as planned. Businesses shut down. People die. Marriages end. Corporate mergers happen. Industries go away.
You should dig your well BEFORE you are thirsty. Even if everything is going PERFECTLY today, there’s a good chance your plans will change in the future. Things outside of your control will happen. The goal is put contingency plans is place BEFORE you need them.
Plan B Network Marketing
Network marketing is the perfect Plan B. I think so. Here are some reasons you should consider it.
Flexible
What’s great about network marketing is you can start part-time, even just an hour or two a week. It’s very flexible. Anyone can fit it into their schedule, even if on a limited weekly basis.
Free Mentor
With network marketing, you get a free mentor who will coach you, support you and help you. They never charge you one cent for their time and they only succeed if they help you succeed. Talk about a win-win.
Low Start-Up Cost
Compared to most businesses, network marketing is very inexpensive to start, normally several hundred dollars, and sometimes much less.
Residual Income
Anyone can drive for Uber or Lyft, sell on eBay or Etsy, or get a part-time job, but the problem with those options is you are still stuck trading hours for dollars. Your income is limited to your ability to work. The moment you stop working or lose your ability to work, the income stops. Plus, there is a cap on your earnings because you only have so many hours in a day.
With network marketing, you are building an asset that can pay you for many years to come. Do the work once and get paid over and over for it.
Leverage
With network marketing you have leverage. Not only do you get paid on what you do, but you can potentially earn commissions and overrides from the efforts of hundreds, even thousands of other people.
No Special Skills
To get involved in MLM, it requires no special skills, licensing, or certification. Of course, to make the BIG money you will need master some basic skills, but you can earn while you learn!
Personal Development
My favorite thing about the industry is the personal development. We are the only industry I know of where personal development is encouraged and taught.
Willable Asset
Your network marketing income/team is a willable asset (in most cases). This means when you die it can be left to your heirs. Or, you can sell it for a big pay day (in most cases).
Unlimited Earnings Potential
With most part-time jobs or businesses, there is a limit on how much you can earn, because you are trading hours for dollars. With network marketing, there is no ceiling on your income. You might not earn anything, but the possibility is there to earn millions.
An Important Insight
Starting a side hustle, Plan B, or part-time business WHILE you have a day job or source of income is a good thing. It keeps your bills paid and your spouse happy while you learn the ropes and test out the idea. Considering the high failure rate of new businesses, this is a smart move.
Plus, within a relatively short amount of time you will discover whether you even LIKE the business, side hustle, or Plan B. If yes, proceed. If not, you can test out different ideas until you find something that is a good match for you.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, everyone needs a Plan B. Network marketing is the perfect PLAN B, as I see it. No, it’s not for everyone, but if you are patient, hard-working, coachable, and have a desire to change your life, I can’t think of a better industry to be involved with.
