In today’s post, I want to share my top 19 ideas on how to move your MLM Business forward. These are helpful lessons I have learned during the past 15 years in the industry, that can help you achieve MLM Success. I hope you find the information helpful.
# 1 People must be coachable if they want to succeed. This is a business of duplication. The last thing you want to do is reinvent the wheel. Follow your upline and their system and do not deviate.
# 2 Your story is your story, don’t compare yourself to others. Each person is on their own journey. Plus, there is always a story behind the story. When you compare yourself with someone else, you don’t know the entire story. You don’t know what they’ve been through or how hard they have worked. If anything, compare who you are with who you are capable of being.
# 3 Leaders develop and build other leaders. When you sponsor leaders you multiply your organization. When you sponsor followers you add people to your team. Your real leadership ability is reflected by the number of leaders you have in your team. It’s your job to find and develop leaders in your team. Customers and affiliates will come and go, but leaders are what makes you money in the business.
# 4 Look for people who want it, not people who need it. People who need the business will seldom get involved, and rarely do anything with the business if they do get involved. You are looking for people who are hungry for success. You are looking for people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. You are looking for people who are ready to change their life for the better. In other words, they have a BIG, BURNING DESIRE.
# 5 You never know who’s looking for what you have. Don’t pre-judge people. Offer your business opportunity to anyone and everyone, and let them decide if it is a good fit for them. You never know who your next ACE will be. Usually, people will fool you. The people you think will be great fizzle out and quit, and the people you thought had no chance of success will build it big.
# 6 Monkey see money do, the example duplicates. Your team will do what you do, not what you tell them to do. Make sure you are always setting a good example for your team to follow.
# 7 You don’t need an upline to succeed, you need a downline. People complain about not having a great upline support team. At the end of the day, you get paid by the SIZE and quality of your DOWNLINE, not your upline. Be the type of sponsor you wish you had, instead of blaming your upline for your lack of results.
# 8 Be someone worth following, set the example for your team. Inspire others by your actions. Lead by example at all times and SHOW your team what they should be doing rather than just telling them what to do. Remember that people want to follow someone with a big vision.
# 9 Are people happy when you enter a room, or when you leave the room? Check your attitude at all times. Be nice to people and put a smile on your face. Be optimistic. Remember that positive attracts and negative repels.
# 10 You never look good trying to make someone else look bad. Never speak bad about anyone to anyone on your team. Don’t badmouth other people or other network marketing companies. If you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything at all!
# 11 Create new lines/legs in your business each year. Keep building new legs to replace people who drop out or slow down. Build at least 1-2 new legs each year you are in business. This is a great way to lead by example and stabilize your team.
# 12 At some point, you will have to rebuild. People will quit, regardless of what you do to help them. Your business won’t stay in the momentum or growth phase forever. Be prepared for it and embrace it when it happens. Never let a month go by where you don’t personally sponsor 2-4 new people.
# 13 Meetings make you money. Never forget the power of a live meeting or live event. This is where people make the decision to build a big business. Promote events and attend all events yourself. And remember, the person with the marker makes the money!
# 14 Find people through people. It’s not who you know, it’s who they know. Each person you sponsor, even if they are a dud, knows a stud. Taproot everyone you sponsor and build depth. Always work with the newest, most excited distributor at the deepest level in your organization. Typically, your best leaders in your team won’t show up until level 5, 6 or 7, maybe even deeper.
# 15 Plant your flag with one company and stay the course. Pick a good network marketing company and stick with it. Pick a company you want to have your problems with. No company is perfect. At some point, you need to commit to ONE company, rather than keep jumping around. Most leaders have been with their company minimum ten years.
# 16 Big companies produce big earners. The more revenue a company does, the more top earners it has.
# 17 Who you start with won’t be who you finish with. Most people on your team will come and go. Eventually, the right people will show up and your dream will become a reality.
# 18 You won’t reach the next rank with your same team. If your team isn’t producing the results you desire, FIND A NEW TEAM. Look for people who are self-motivated and hungry for success. You can’t make anyone else successful or motivated.
# 19 Phase 1 is the only way to advance. Always focus on the income producing activities and never stop personally recruiting yourself. Do not go into management mode, EVER!
