MLM Samples: Grow Your MLM Business with Free Samples

In today’s post, I’d like to educate you about how to use MLM Samples to explode your network marketing business.

Samples are a simple, cost-effective way to acquire new customers and distributors. Many businesses use samples to get prospects to try out their product(s).

Take a minute and think about your last trip to Costco or Sam’s Club. Chances are, there were several employees in the store giving out free samples. There was a waiting line at these “sample stations” because people like free stuff.

Many people would try a sample and SOME of them would buy the product, right on the spot. Not everyone would buy, but enough people would buy so that the store could justify giving out free samples!

Assuming your network marketing company has great products, getting people to TRY your product is the first and most difficult step. This is where MLM Samples come in hand.

The Product Approach

Let me begin by telling you this. For most reps in our industry, it’s much easier to lead with the products, rather than the business opportunity.

Most people you encounter are NOT entrepreneurial. They do not have the desire, mindset, or skillset to start or grow a business but everyone you talk to is a CONSUMER. Everyone buys stuff every day of their life!

If your product is excellent quality, high value, affordable, and has mass market appeal, you should consider giving out free samples. It’s more fun, much easier, and leads to less rejection.

How to Use MLM Samples to Grow Your Network Marketing Business

What I’d like to do in the following paragraphs is share some of my favorite ways to use MLM Samples to find more customers and recruit more distributors.

# 1: Local Events

Leveraging local events presents a golden opportunity to amplify sample distribution and expand your MLM business reach within the community. Identify relevant events that align with your target audience—a farmers’ market, a health and wellness fair, or a local festival, for instance.

Set up an engaging booth or stand that showcases your products and offers samples. Use these events not just to distribute samples but also to engage attendees in conversations, understand their needs, and build connections.

Offer informative sessions or demonstrations to highlight the benefits of your products and entice attendees to try the samples. Additionally, collect contact information or social media handles to follow up with attendees post-event, allowing for further engagement and potential conversions.

By strategically utilizing local events, you can create a buzz around your MLM products, foster connections, and convert curious attendees into loyal customers.

# 2: Direct Mail

Direct mail can be a powerful tool for distributing free samples and promoting your network marketing business directly to potential customers’ doorsteps. Begin by crafting personalized, compelling mailers that highlight the benefits of your products and the value they offer.

Include an invitation to receive a free sample by visiting your website or contacting you directly. Ensure the process to request a sample is simple and straightforward. Incorporate eye-catching visuals and persuasive language in the mailers to grab attention and entice recipients to take action.

Tracking mechanisms, such as unique codes or QRs, can be included to monitor the effectiveness of your direct mail campaign. This method not only delivers tangible samples but also creates a personalized touchpoint, increasing the likelihood of recipients trying your products and potentially becoming long-term customers within your network marketing business.

# 3: Sampling Parties

Sampling parties can be a dynamic strategy to significantly grow your network marketing business by creating an engaging and interactive environment for potential customers. Begin by organizing themed events or gatherings where attendees can experience your products firsthand.

Offer an array of samples, allowing guests to explore and test different products while providing insights and demonstrations about their benefits and uses. Encourage attendees to share their experiences and feedback, fostering a sense of community and trust around your brand.

Utilize these events not only to showcase your products but also to share success stories, testimonials, and educational content about your network marketing business. Create an atmosphere that encourages networking and connections among attendees, empowering them to become ambassadors for your products.

Through sampling parties, you can effectively convert curiosity into enthusiasm, generating buzz and expanding your customer base within the network marketing sphere.

# 4: Freebies with Purchase

Offering free samples to your current customers can be a strategic move to boost sales and foster growth within your network marketing business. Start by identifying complementary or new products that align with their previous purchases or interests.

Tailor the sample offerings based on their preferences, ensuring relevance and value. Provide these samples as a gesture of appreciation for their continued support, highlighting it as an exclusive perk for being a loyal customer.

Encourage them to try the samples and share their experiences, possibly offering incentives for referrals or social media engagement. By providing free samples to existing customers, not only do you enhance their overall experience but also create opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and word-of-mouth recommendations, ultimately contributing to the expansion and success of your network marketing business.

# 5: Influencers

Utilizing free MLM samples strategically can be an effective way to recruit influencers into your network marketing business. Begin by identifying influencers whose audience aligns with your target market.

Offer them complimentary samples of your products, highlighting their unique features and benefits. Encourage influencers to try and share their genuine experiences with their audience through reviews, unboxing videos, or social media posts.

Additionally, provide them with exclusive offers or discounts for their followers, creating an incentive for engagement and promotion. Cultivate a relationship with influencers by offering ongoing support, engaging with their content, and expressing interest in collaborating further.

By leveraging free samples as a gateway, you can attract influencers to become advocates for your MLM products, leveraging their reach and credibility to expand your network marketing business within their dedicated audience.

# 6: Product Demonstrations

Product demonstrations coupled with free samples can be a dynamic approach to foster growth within your network marketing business. Start by showcasing your products in action, illustrating their benefits, and addressing common pain points your audience might have.

Offer attendees the opportunity to experience the product firsthand by providing free samples during or after the demonstration. Ensure the demonstration is engaging, informative, and tailored to highlight the unique selling points of your products.

Use this platform not just to showcase the features but also to educate and create a memorable experience. Encourage attendees to interact, ask questions, and provide feedback.

By combining product demonstrations with free samples, you create a powerful combination that not only showcases your products’ value but also allows potential customers to tangibly experience their benefits, significantly contributing to the growth of your network marketing business.

# 7: Paid Advertising

Paid advertising can serve as a potent avenue to distribute free samples and drive growth within your MLM business. Begin by crafting compelling ad campaigns that highlight the value and benefits of your products while emphasizing the offer of free samples.

Utilize targeted advertising on social media platforms, search engines, or through sponsored content to reach your ideal audience. Design landing pages or dedicated sections on your website where visitors can claim their free samples by providing minimal information.

Implement tracking mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of your ad campaigns and optimize them for better results. By strategically using paid advertising to offer free samples, you not only attract potential customers but also create an opportunity to showcase your products’ quality and efficacy, laying the groundwork for future sales and expansion within your MLM business.

The Most Cost Effective Advertising Approach

Samples are easily the most cost-effective advertising approach I can think of for network marketers. Rather than spend $100 to $200 on an online ad to promote your business, and hope for the best, why not purchase $100 to $200 worth of products, break them down into single servings, and hand them out as samples?

If you buy $200 worth of your company’s products, you should be able to break them down into several hundred samples, costing you $1 or less per serving.

While I cannot guarantee it in writing, I can speak with confidence that if you gave out 200-300 samples you would find several new customers, even distributors too. Plus, you could build up your contact database.

The sample approach is a win-win way to grow your network marketing business.

  1. Hey Chuck,

I have a couple concerns about this:

If the posture of the distributor handing out the samples is a little off, like they lack confidence, or are new in network marketing and don’t have enough belief in their business yet, this might not work.

Also, a lot of new network marketers think that the product should “just sell itself.” Yes, the products from most MLM companies are superior, but the person sampling the product might not get the “results” right there instantly, like skin cream or another type of tonic that needs to be used steadily for a week to see results.

I had a guy today who has been handing out samples for a month and he wants to quit because he thinks its the products fault.

Well, maybe it’s because he has no clue how to do network marketing, and hasn’t read one book or watched one video about network marketing and posturing.

It’s not the products fault, however he believes the product should just sell itself.

Just watched a video of a woman who spent $2000 on samples and didn’t recruit anyone.

    Go figure. . .

    1. Samples can work, if you know what you are doing. It’s also important to realize a lot of folks simply like freebies, and have no desire to ever purchase anything from you. I simply tell people the products come with a money back guarantee, so they can sample the product for 30 days and if they don’t like it they can get their money back. If someone isn’t willing to make a purchase, there is probably no point to give them a sample.
