In today’s post, I’d like to educate you about the MLM Party Plan and share my best MLM Party Plan tips. I’m going to cover a lot of helpful information, so I hope you’re ready to take notes and learn.

What is the MLM Party Plan?

To begin, here’s a definition I found online about the party plan.

The party plan is a method of marketing products by hosting what is presented as a social event at which products will be offered for sale. It is a form of direct selling. ~ Wikipedia

Home parties are a lot of fun. In my own words, the MLM Party Plan is when a small group of people get together at someone’s house to learn more about a product or service. Basically, someone hosts the party at their home, invites their friends over, and has a salesperson come over to educate and entertain their guests. People laugh, socialize, share food, and shop. The people who attend have fun and learn about new products. The host earns free products or cash for hosting the event. And the salesperson gets to present their products in front of five to ten people (or more) at once.

In the digital world (and post COVID world), some of these MLM Party Plans have transitioned to the internet, on websites such as Facebook. Instead of getting together in person, people meet up online and do the party online.

Reasons to Use the MLM Party Plan

As I see it, here are the top five reasons to use the MLM Party Plan to grow your network marketing business:

1) Educate Your Customers

My favorite reason to use the party plan is to educate my prospects about the products and business opportunity. When you have a home party, you have your prospect’s undivided attention for one to two hours. You can let the prospects touch and demo the products. You can also discuss the features and benefits of the products.

In my experience, I’ve found that the best way to sell something is to educate your prospect by giving a demonstration. Show them how the products work. Show them how the products will help them. Let them sample and touch the product.

2) Find New Customers

Customers are the lifeblood of any direct sales business. When you conduct party plans, you will typically find three to ten new customers from each event. If you provide great customer service and follow up, many of these customers will become repeat customers. This gives you immediate and future profits. In most cases, several of your happy customers will agree to host a party at their house, which leads to additional business. Some of the guests might enjoy what you do and decide to become a distributor themselves.

3) Work Smart

Rather than trying to sell your products one-on-one, it’s much wiser to sell your products in a group setting. Instead of selling one product to one customer at a time, you can sell the same products to five to ten different people at once. This lets you work smart and produce more profit in your business, in the same amount of time. This is a great strategy for anyone with a full-time job and family commitments, who wants to build a big network marketing business, but doesn’t have a lot of time.

4) Generate More Sales

When you leverage the MLM Party Plan, you will generate more sales volume in your business. If you can do one or two home parties each week and each party has five to ten guests, you should earn $500 to $1,000 per week (individual results will vary). If you were trying to reach the same amount of people one-on-one, it would take you 10 times longer!

5) Have Fun

MLM Party Plans are fun. They are a great way to meet new friends, generate more sales, socialize, make money, and have fun at the same time. If you’ve never led or hosted a party plan before (or attended one) you don’t know what you are missing. Just remember that most people love to have fun!

What I’d like to do in the paragraphs that follow is share some of my top MLM Party Plan Tips for Success.

# 1: Set Your Agenda

Everything begins with your agenda. This covers your goals, what you want to achieve during the party, the “big picture” strategy, etc. I suggest you talk with your successful mentor who has proven experience with party plans and see what they suggest. You can also search online for an example agenda.

At a minimum, your agenda should include:

  • Introduction
  • Quick Overview of Company & Products
  • Sampling the Products
  • Questions & Answers
  • Prizes & Contests
  • Taking Orders
  • Booking Appointments

Here are some additional considerations for your agenda.

Try to begin with a well-thought-out plan. Great events always start with a powerful, creative, and feasible plan. A live event is one of the best platforms to share your brand, connect with your target market, and get feedback on your product instantly. For that, you need to know what you are trying to accomplish. Stick with smart goals and outline what you are trying for. Finally, make sure that you proceed in the right direction for achieving these goals. ~ Infinite MLM Software

# 2: Develop a Timeline

Set up a timeline of events to include your introduction, presentation, order taking, and closing. Make sure you start and end on time. This is vitally important.

60-minutes is the perfect amount of time for a party plan event. Worst case scenario, keep it to 45-90 minutes. People are busy. They have places to go and things to do. If you have an agenda, and a solid timeline, you can easily fit in everything you need to cover in 45 to 90-minutes.

# 3: Brief the Hostess

Educate your host or hostess a few days ahead of time on how to prepare for the event. This includes inviting, setting up the room, refreshments, attire, etc. A few minutes of preparation will make a big difference.

Do not assume your host or hostess knows what to do. They probably don’t. Give them specific instructions and you should be good to go.

The most important thing you can do is teach your hostess how to PROPERLY INVITE people to the party. Give them example scripts and do some role playing with them if necessary. Make sure they invite at least twice the number of people they want to attend.

# 4: Rehearse

Make sure you spend an hour or two rehearsing what you will say and do, especially if you’ve never conducted a party plan event before. This will make the event go that much smoother. Another thing you can do is tag along with your mentor to one of their parties and learn by watching what they do.

# 5: Show Up on Time

Be punctual. Get to your event early so you can set up before everyone else arrives. Try to arrive 20-minutes early so you can set up your product display, review your timeline, and be set to go. You want to make a great first impression. Don’t be late!

# 6: Have Samples & Inventory

Make sure you have plenty of samples and product inventory with you, so you can fill orders on the spot. This will make your customers happy. I don’t know how anyone could do a party and then have people wait a week or two to get their products. You want to fulfill their orders on the spot when they are most excited.

# 7: Start on Time

Make sure you start the party on time. Even if some people are late, don’t punish the people who showed up on time by starting late.

# 8: Have Fun

At your home party, try to have fun. Be humorous and don’t take yourself too seriously. Laugh when possible and keep a smile on your face, even if you are nervous. Most people have enough stress in their life and want to have more fun! Get people involved. Tell a few jokes. Keep a smile on your face. Whatever you do, don’t be boring!

# 9: Finish On Time

Make sure you end the party on time, or even a few minutes early. Value your guests’ time and don’t drag out the event. If you say you will be done at 8 p.m., do not finish at 8:10 p.m.

# 10: Take Orders & Book Appointments

At the end of your MLM Party Plan Event, make sure you ask for orders. Give each person an order form and ASK them to buy. Recommend products that will benefit them. If they have questions, answer their questions. In addition, ask people to book an appointment with you at their home. You will miss out on 100% of the orders and appointments you do not ask for.

# 11: Follow Up

After the event, it’s vital to follow up. Follow up with the host. Send them a personalized thank you card and gift. Make sure they receive their free gifts or cash bonus as promised. In addition, follow up with each person from the event. Make sure they received they order in the mail and are happy with it. Add everyone to your contact database (and Facebook page) and stay in touch every month for the next 12-months.

# 12: Keep Learning & Improving

You might not be great at the party plan when you first get started, but you will improve. Seek feedback. Have your mentor tag along with you to a party or two and ask them for suggestions. Evaluate your performance and look for areas you can improve upon. You’ll become an expert in no time if you do this.
