Are you looking for MLM leads that call you? If so, you are in the right place at the right time.
First and foremost, is this even possible? You might be wondering that yourself. After all, most of us are taught to make our name’s list, call everyone we know, and approach strangers about our products and business. Just how in the heck can you go from doing that to getting interested prospects to reach out to you first? That is the objective of this article.
I can’t speak for you, but I would rather have two or three quality prospects call me each day to learn about my business opportunity than me go out and cold call 100 prospects myself. How about you?
At the time of writing this article, I’ve personally sponsored about 150 people in past two years. Approximately 145 out of those 150 people were people I did not know before I sponsored them. These people called me to join my team.
All I did was answer their questions and walk them through the sign up process. A few of these folks even went and signed themselves up without calling me at all.
If you’d like to experience similar results, I can share a few helpful tips that will help you.
My Journey
When I first joined network marketing way back in 2002, I did what I was taught.
I made my name list. I prospected people at gas stations. I went to the mall to meet prospects. I hung out at book stores for 8-10 hours per day on the weekends. I used the three-foot rule. I became proficient at these things, although I didn’t really enjoy it.
I could get almost anyone’s phone number and contact information. The major problem with this method was that it was very time consuming and I did not have any leverage. If I took time off, or stopped prospecting, I had no new prospects to talk with.
I figured there had to be a better way. I continued down that dark, stressful path for almost 8-years. Looking back now, I was miserable.
Discovering Direct Response Marketing
In 2010, I learned about direct response marketing. I studied two of the best guys around: Dan Kennedy and Mike Dillard. These guys taught me two valuable concepts:
- Be the welcomed guest, rather than the uninvited pest.
- Become the hunted, not the hunter.
They taught me how to generate my own leads, so people would contact me first. Mike’s book Magnetic Sponsoring was a game changer. Dan’s two books “No B.S. Sales Success” and “No B.S. Direct Marketing” were very helpful.
I have been using their concepts now for approximately seven years with much success.
How to Get MLM Leads That Call You
To the best of my knowledge, there are only TWO ways to get MLM leads that call you first. Those two strategies are:
- Paid Advertising
- Attraction Marketing
I will cover each of these methods in greater detail below.
Paid Advertising
Paid advertising is not a new lead generation strategy. Most businesses in every industry utilize paid advertising.
The whole idea that network marketers shouldn’t use paid advertising to grow their business does not make sense to me.
Paid advertising requires you to spend money. Most people in our industry are cheapskates (or broke) and will balk at the thought of investing money in their business. This is one of the reasons few leaders recommend it.
Despite that viewpoint, I think it’s a wise idea to at least consider it.
Advertising gives you leverage so everything doesn’t rely on your personal performance. It frees up your time so you can work smart and do other things.
Figure out what works by testing different strategies. Once you discover something that works well, you can do more of it and grow rapidly. You can scale your efforts.
Examples of paid advertising include postcards, magazines, direct mail, newspaper classifieds, and pay per click ads.
You create a simple lad that gives away something for free. This is known as a two-step selling process. Your prospects request the free information and they become a lead. You either mail or email them the free information and your free information sells them on you and what you have to offer.
A sample ad might say:

Most people who try paid advertising simply create an ad to promote their business. This typically results in bad results. It’s much wiser to use the two-step selling process I just discussed. Give away something for free, such as a free report, and let your report do the selling for you.
Then have a good follow up process to stay in touch with each lead and get them to like, know, and trust you.
When you’re running paid advertising campaigns, you’re able to reach a very targeted audience. Costs related to paid advertising are dependent on the objective or type of ad you are running.
For example, if your objective is website traffic or leads then you will opt for a cost-per-click (CPC), or if your aim is brand awareness you will opt for a CPM (Cost Per 1,000 Impressions).

Attraction Marketing
Attraction Marketing is my preferred method of choice. I think it’s the best way to get MLM leads that call you.
This is when you BRAND yourself. You promote yourself, rather than your business opportunity. You position yourself as an expert and focus on educating people. This ATTRACTS quality prospects to you. Why? Because people join people, not businesses. And people want to work with experts.
You can utilize attraction marketing through blogging, podcasting, or making videos. Or, you can have your own generic Facebook group. I use all three methods, by my favorite method is blogging.
Whichever attraction marketing method you choose, you pick your target market, develop your unique selling proposition, and create content that educates and entertains people in your target market.
For instance, I chose network marketers as my target market. I write articles, like this one, that educate them and help them solve their problems. The prospects see the value I provide, because I position myself as an expert, and many of them reach out to me.
Some of them join my team. Others hire me as a coach. Some do nothing. And some buy different affiliate products from me.
Either way it’s a win-win for everyone involved. They get the help they need and I make money. I become the hunted, not the hunter.
Your job is to create consistent daily content for your audience that address their top challenges, problems, pains, dreams, desires, and questions…
This content can be in the form of videos, Facebook posts, blog posts, Instagram pics & stories… this content can be FREE PDF downloads, how-to infographics, cheat-sheets, audios, interviews… ANYTHING.
This content ideally EDUCATES and ENTERTAINS your audience simultaneously, and provides them solutions to problems they have. It identifies an ‘itch’ your audience has, and then it ‘scratches’ that itch!

Putting it All Together
If you want MLM leads that call you, you can either utilize paid advertising or do attraction marketing. Those are the only two options I know of.
Both of these methods work great, if you do it consistently and master your skills. I would consider attraction marketing if you are on a limited budget, have a lot of time, and enjoy teaching others.
On the other hand, if your time is limited, and/or you have a sufficient advertising budget, I would choose paid advertising.
Some people do both. Ultimately, each person’s situation is different and you must do what is best for you.
