MLM Leads That Call You

Are you looking for MLM leads that call you?  If so, you are in the right place.

I can’t speak for you, but I would rather have two or three quality prospects call me each day to learn about my business opportunity than me go out and cold call 100 prospects myself.

I’ve personally sponsored about 150 people in past two years.  Approximately 145 out of those 150 people were people I did not know before I sponsored them.  These people called me to join my team.

All I did was answer their questions and walk them through the sign up process.  A few of these folks even went and signed themselves up without calling me at all.

Would you like to be in a similar situation?  If so, I can share a few helpful tips that will help you.

My Journey

When I first joined network marketing way back in 2002, I did what I was taught.

I made my name list.  I prospected people at gas stations.  I went to the mall to meet prospects.  I hung out at book stores for 8-10 hours per day on the weekends.  I used the three-foot rule.  I became proficient at these things, although I didn’t really enjoy it.

I could get almost anyone’s phone number and contact information.  The major problem with this method was that it was very time consuming and I did not have any leverage.  If I took time off, or stopped prospecting, I had no new prospects.

I figured there had to be a better way.  I continued down that dark, stressful path for almost 8 years.

The Solution

In 2010, I started studying direct response marketing.  I studied two of the best guys around: Dan Kennedy and Mike Dillard.  These guys taught me two valuable concepts:

  • Be the welcomed guest, rather than the uninvited pest
  • Become the hunted, not the hunter

They taught me how to generate my own leads, so people would contact me first.  Mike’s book Magnetic Sponsoring was a game changer.  Dan’s two books “No B.S. Sales Success” and “No B.S. Direct Marketing” were very helpful.

I have been using their concepts now for approximately seven years with much success.


To the best of my knowledge, there are only TWO ways to get MLM leads that call you first.  Those two ways are:

  1. Paid Advertising
  2. Attraction Marketing

I will cover each of these methods in greater detail below.

Paid Advertising

This method requires you to spend money.

mlm leads that call youMost people in our industry are cheapskates and will balk at the thought of investing money in their business.

Despite that viewpoint, I think it’s a wise idea to at least consider it.

Advertising gives you leverage.  Once you figure out what works, you can scale your efforts.  It also frees up your time, so you can work smart. Figure out what works and do more of it.

Examples of paid advertising include postcards, magazines, direct mail, newspaper classifieds, and pay per click ads.

You come up with a simple little ad that gives away something for free.  This is known as a two-step selling process.

Your prospects request the free information and they become a lead.  You either mail or email them the free information and your free information sells them on you and what you have to offer.

A sample ad might say:

FREE REPORT! 7 Ways to make Money from Home.  Visit my website to learn more.

Most people who try paid advertising simply create an ad to promote their business.  This typically ends up with bad results.  It’s much wiser to use the two-step selling process I just discussed.  Give away something for free, such as a free report, and let your report do the selling for you.

Attraction Marketing

Attraction Marketing is my method of choice.  I think it’s the best way to get MLM leads that call you.

This is when you BRAND yourself.  You promote yourself, rather than your business opportunity.

attraction marketing formulaThis makes sense to me, because people join people, not businesses.  You can do attraction marketing through blogging, podcasting or making videos.  I use all three methods, by my favorite method is blogging.

Whichever method you choose, you pick your target market, your unique selling proposition, and create content that educates and entertains people in your target market.

For instance, I chose network marketers as my target market.  I write articles, like this one, that educate them and help them overcome their problems. The prospects see the value I provide, because I position myself as an expert, and many of them reach out to me.

Some of them join my team.  Others hire me as a coach.  Some do nothing.  And some buy different affiliate products from me.

Either way it’s a win-win for everyone involved.  They get the help they need and I make money.  I become the hunted, not the hunter.

Putting it All Together

If you want MLM leads that call you, you can either advertise or do attraction marketing.  Those are the only two choices I know of.

Either one of these methods will work great, if you do it consistently and master your skills.  I would consider attraction marketing if you are on a limited budget, have a lot of time and enjoy teaching others.

On the other hand, if your time is limited, and/or you have a sufficient advertising budget, I would choose paid advertising.

Some people do both.  Ultimately, each person’s situation is different and you have to do what is best for you.
