I’d like to give you a quick MLM Class. The purpose of this MLM Class is to share 7 life changing tips that can totally revolutionize your business. Some of these tips might come as a surprise to you. Let’s get started.
Tip # 1: MLM Isn’t for Everyone – Don’t get me wrong here. We have a great industry. But it’s not for everyone. Not everyone wants to own their own business. Most people want to be employees. So don’t take it personal when people you talk to aren’t excited about your business opportunity or product line. You are simply looking for people who are open minded and are looking for what you have to offer. Your job isn’t to to bug, pressure or try to convince someone that what you have is a good thing. Your job is to sift and sort through people until you find the right people. In addition, you might decide for yourself at some point in time that MLM isn’t for you. If that happens, it’s okay!
Tip # 2: If You Fail In MLM, You’re NOT a Failure – Just because you fail at something doesn’t make you a failure. Most successful entrepreneurs fail 3, 4, 5 times (or even more), before they succeed in business. It takes time to develop the right skill-set and mind-set. So don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t achieve success with your first business venture. Many successful network marketers have failed in several companies, or they failed for several years in the same company, before they eventually succeeded. You’re only a failure if you give up and quit on your dreams. Changing MLM Companies or changing business models is not the end of the world.
Tip # 3: MLM Is a Great First Business – Believe it or not, I recommend MLM to just about every young aspiring entrepreneur I meet. I do so because MLM teaches you a lot about sales, marketing and entrepreneurship. You also learn recruiting, small business taxes, small business accounting, advertising tips, leadership, and so much more. All of these skills can help you build a successful business in any industry. In fact, I believe that you will learn more about business by spending 1-2 years in MLM than you will by going to business school. To me, MLM is the best business school around.
Tip # 4: You Can Make A Lot of Money in MLM – Most businesses (in every industry) fail. But if you are willing to take the time, money and energy to learn what it takes to succeed in MLM, and then go out and apply it, you can earn a HUGE income in this industry. There are plenty of folks who earn six and seven figure incomes in this industry. Best of all, a large portion of this income is residual income, which comes in month after month.
Tip # 5. It’s Simple to Succeed, But It Isn’t Easy – This business is simple to do, but it’s not easy. In fact, it’s very difficult. That’s why most people won’t actually go out and do the work. Most people know what needs to be done, but they simply don’t have the mental toughness or discipline to roll up their sleeves and do the work. It’s a lot easier to think about success than to go out and make it happen.
Tip # 6: Few Business Models Let You Earn Residual Income – One of my favorite things about network marketing is the opportunity to earn residual income. Very few traditional businesses offer this same opportunity. That means that most regular businesses owners have to keep working, in order to keep making money. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to work until I’m old. I like what passive, residual income has to offer. With network marketing, you don’t have to start over at zero every month and every year. You still get paid for your previous work.
Tip # 7: The Company You Join IS NOT The Most Important Thing – Most network marketers actually think their company is the key to their success. They think that if they join the right company at the right time, they will get their lottery ticket stamped, and they will earn a nice income, even without doing anything. Nothing is further from the truth. The company you join is much less important than your ability to market your products and recruit others. No products sell themselves. If they did, your network marketing company wouldn’t use the direct sales model in the first place. While you do need to look for a company with good products, a good compensation plan and good distributor policies, the person you team up with is much more important than the company you join.
These are just a few lessons I’ve learned along the way, during my 13+ years in the industry. Hopefully, this quick MLM Class helped open your eyes about network marketing, and what it has to offer.
