Today I’d like to review the LiveGood Certificate of Analysis. This training is for the product people, the people who like to read ingredient labels, and want to know more about LiveGood products. If you’re one of those folks, keep reading.

What is a Certificate of Analysis?
I think it’s best to take a moment and explain what a Certificate of Analysis is. Here’s a good definition I found online.
A certificate of analysis is a formal laboratory prepared document that details the results of and sometimes the specifications and analytical methods for one or more laboratory analysis signed manually or electronically by an authorized representative of the entity conducting the analysis. This document gives assurances to the recipient that the analyzed item is what it is designated to be or has the features advertised by the producer. The design and content of a COA may be based upon a set of requirements identified by the lab, by regulatory driven requirements, and or by standards developed by standard developing organizations. The COA is used in a wide variety of industries including but not limited to agriculture, chemical, clinical research, food and beverage and pharmaceutical industries. ~ Wikipedia
In my own words, a COA is a lab test by a third-party company to ensure the product has and does what it says it’s going to do.
The LiveGood Certificate of Analysis
When you login your back office, on the left-hand side of the page, there is a link that says Certificate of Analysis. Here is a link to that page to see for yourself.
When you click on that link, you will see a screen with the products and a link to their COA (I share an image below to show you what it looks like). As of August 2023, we have a Certificate of Analysis for 16 products. Some products also have a metal test.
My Thoughts
Keep in mind, most companies in our industry do not provide a COA on their website. Some companies will not share their COA, even if you ask for it!
Does having a COA mean our products are the best in the industry? Of course not. That is a subjective question. But it does mean that the company is transparent and willing to share this information with its customers. They have nothing to hide. That is important to me.
If a company doesn’t provide you this information, even if you ask for it, you must take at face value that what they are telling you is true. At least with a COA, you can verify what’s in a product.
