Today, I want to share some practical advice about how to get people to contact you about your MLM Business. Many years ago, Mike Dillard taught me a simple, yet amazing concept that changed my life and business for the better. He basically said that it’s better to have a few interested people call you every single day, about your business, than it is for you to cold call and chase others (paraphrased).
After years of doing this business the hard way, I couldn’t agree more. I’ll admit right upfront that there is nothing wrong with you contacting people first. That is how most people build the business. Most people work their warm market, use the three foot rule and prospect strangers. I am not against doing that, but it’s not how I personally want to build my business.
Personally, I seldom prospect anyone. For every 100 people I talk to about my business, 99 of those 100 people contact ME first. They either call me or email me with questions or ask me how to join my team. Personally, I like this rejection free and stress free approach.
Besides, I don’t want to come across like the desperate, high pressure used car salesman. To be quite frank with you, I suck at selling, and that’s why I use my technique.
I don’t expect everyone else to do this approach, but it works for me.
I have to tell you this process DID NOT happen overnight. It took me YEARS to figure out how to make this happen. I’ve done more dumb things and failed at more strategies than most people ever will.
What I want to do in the rest of this post is share with you what I know about how to get others to contact you first about your MLM.
To succeed with this approach you have to do things differently than most network marketers do. You have to stop annoying people, stop chasing people and start being a professional.
More importantly, you need a game plan. It takes a good plan, some money and some hard work to make all of this happen.
Here are some things I recommend you do. First and foremost, learn how to advertise effectively. Learn how to write ads for your target market so people call you to get more information. Learn copy-writing. Study everything you can about it. Study direct response marketing as well.
Your goal with advertising is to get people in your target market to contact you for more information. Don’t just promote your business opportunity though. Offer a free report, free book, free boot camp, free coaching call or something else. That’s what you want to advertise.
When people contact you, give them the information they requested and cultivate a friendship with them. Don’t immediately pitch them on what you have! Be a professional, ask them questions and see if they have a need that you can offer a solution for.
Another great thing to do is to create content. Consider making a YouTube channel or a blog where you can publish content on the internet. This is quite perhaps the best way to get people to contact you. Spend a few years and build up a large blog designed for your target market. Or, build up a YouTube Channel with 500 to 1000 videos (or more). Over deliver with information. Provide value.
Do that and people will contact you because they see you as a solution to your problems.
Those are really the two best ways to get people to call you about your MLM Business. I still think you should talk to people while you are getting these things in place. But once you have them set up and working well, you won’t need to prospect people. Your phone will be ringing off the hook.
Instead of being the hunter, you will be the hunted! And that is exactly what you want.

I am in total agreement Chuck.
The one thing that I feel is very important to say here is make sure and respond in a timely manner.
Sure we can provide the contact information like phone number, email and address, and if the person contacts and we wait 1, 2 or 3 weeks to respond, we have lost trust and respect. Sure, you may not be available the minute they call or mail, but you should try your best to respond within 24 hours. When people see that you respond in a timely manner, they will be more willing to trust you.
This was a very good post. It is so much better having people contact us, than us contacting them
I build my entire business by having people contact me.
I have found it is very helpful to give customers as many ways to contact you and as many opportunities to think about calling you as you possibly can. Have a blog, send emails, create videos, be active on social media- everything gets you in front of customers and will give them a chance to say- i really should contact them about such and such!
You definitely need to be accessible. I see so many folks online with websites that don’t even include their phone number. It’s crazy as I see it!
These suggestions are really helpful. After reading them I have made my game plan and will follow them for sure. I will surely post what response I get with use of these methods in some weeks. Chuck, I have become a fan of yours and reading your blog has become a daily routine for me. I really appreciate all the interesting articles and tips you share with your readers.
Thanks. It’s a lot easier to make a sale when someone contacts you first. This is how I build my business. I don’t pitch anyone! I only talk to people who give me a call. I answer their questions or show them how to get started. That’s it. This really is the key to success. No one likes to be sold, but they like to buy.
