How to Get Organized in Your MLM Business: Key Points
Here are the big takeaways from my video.
Create a simple business plan. Keep it to one page. Outline your mission, vision, goals, USP, daily activities, and marketing plan. Refer to it daily and update it when needed. Think of it as a living, breathing document. Remember that failing to plan is planning to fail.
Set specific goals. Set daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals for your network marketing business. Focus on things you can control. Don’t set goals for rank, income, how many people you will sponsor, etc. You have no control over those things. Instead, set goals for the following things:
- People prospected.
- People private messaged.
- People invited to a presentation.
- People followed up with.
- People asked for the sale.
- Videos created.
- Postcards mailed.
Tailor your list of goals based on what you are doing to grow your business.
Have a designated workspace for your business. Even if it’s a small, folding desk in a corner of your spare bedroom, that’s okay. Always do your work in your designated work space. Focus on the work at hand, minimize distractions, and get busy. Once you are finished with your work for the day, go back to your family and live life.
Time blocking. Batch activities whenever you can. Do ONE THING at a time. Do not multi-task. For example, you could time block your schedule like this:
- Mondays: Make videos for the week.
- Tuesday: Create and schedule Facebook content for the week.
- Wednesday: Buy ads for the week.
- Thursday: Follow up for the week.
- Friday: Team support.
- Saturday: Hand out 500 flyers and drop cards.
- Sunday: Rest day
You don’t have to follow the exact plan I shared, but come up with something that makes sense to you.
Manage your finances. Have a separate checking account for your business and do not mix family and business finances. Order your products each month from your business account. Order your advertising and business expenses out of that same account. Have your direct deposit from your company go into that account. This keeps life simple and makes things easier to track.
Back up your data. You don’t want to lose the valuable resources you created on your computer. Use a backup service or a USB drive and back up your information at least once per week. Ideally, you want to save your information to the cloud so you don’t need to worry about anything.
Create a work schedule. Each Sunday night, plan out your week. Determine what days you will work, at what times, and what activities you will do. Most importantly, have the self discipline to follow your work schedule each week.
Daily checklist or to do list. Each night before you go to bed come up with the three to five big tasks you will do the following day to grow your business. Make sure the tasks are Income Producing Activities, not busy work. Do not let a day go by where you don’t do everything on your list.
In conclusion, these are my best tips on how to get organized in your MLM Business. None of this is rocket science. Getting organized will save you time, money, and energy. Plus, it will help minimize stress and keep you focused.
