How to Get More Customers In Your Network Marketing Company by Argena Olivis – Book Review

I recently ordered a copy of the book “How to Get Customers In Your Network Marketing Company: The Complete Guide to Converting Leads into Loyal Customers” by Argena Olivis.  I was searching through Amazon for suggested network marketing books and this book came up, so I took a chance on it.  It had tons of great reviews, so I figured it would be a decent read.

What I want to do in the paragraphs below is share a few of my favorite quotes from the book.  Each quote is in bold and italics.  After each quote I will provide my own two cents.

# 1 Finding customers in your network marketing business is crucial for your success. Most network marketers are only taught to recruit distributors into the business.  There is seldom any training on the importance of finding customers (or how to do it).  If nothing else, this book can help someone become product focused, which is a good thing.

# 2 Once you know how to sell the product, it will be easier for you to train your team. It’s hard to teach something to your team that you don’t know how to do yourself.

how to get more customers# 3 As network marketers we need to see profit right away in order to truly believe in the industry and stay involved in it. Our goal as a sponsor or upline is to help our new team members make a check their first month in the business.  Most people are so shortsighted that if they don’t make money their first month they will quit.  I think it’s also our job as a sponsor to give people realistic expectations.

# 4 Network marketing is not an easy industry. No business model is easy, but network marketing is definitely not for the feint at heart.  You have to be able to take rejection and stay disciplined.  Most people can’t do those two things.

# 5 Without trust you cannot create a loyal customer base. People like to do business with people they know, like and trust.  Without focusing on those three things you will struggle to find and keep customers.

# 6 The best types of blogs are the kinds that teach people how to do something.  If you’re going to build your business by blogging (like I do) your goal is to build a blog that provides value.  For example, if you sell weight loss products, you could create an educational blog about how to lose weight.  If all your blog does is try to sell something, people will hit the back button and leave.

# 7 Creating loyal customers is what will truly make you rich. Customers are the lifeblood of your business.  Distributors come and go but customers will provide you a solid residual income.  How big could your team grow, and how much money could you make if every distributor on your team just had 10-20 customers?

# 8 Set sales goals for yourself. All businesses should have written business goals.  Network marketing is no different.  Set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals for your business to give you something to strive for. Come up with a business plan.

# 9 Get out there: invest in yourself and your business. You have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone and invest some money in your personal development, your business education, and in your business.  All businesses require some capital investment. Your comfort zone is your worst enemy.

# 10 Set up your daily routine for success. To be successful and productive in your network marketing business it helps to have a daily routine that you can follow every single day.  Identify the three to five money producing activities that you want to focus on every single day to grow your business.  Do those activities every day no matter what.

# 11 You truly have to market your business daily to see success. Even if you’re building your network marketing business part-time, you have to show up every day and be consistent.  You can’t work your business an hour this week, 20 minutes next week and three hours the following week and expect much to happen.  Be persistent and consistent.

# 12 Finding leads is an income producing activity. You should spend MOST of your time on lead generation, especially after you’ve worked through your warm market.  Without a constant flow of leads your business is doomed.

# 13 The more you increase your skills, the more you will increase your sales.  You can make up in numbers what you lack in skills, but it makes more sense to improve your skills so you can talk to fewer people and get better conversions.

# 14 Your warm market is where you’ll get most of your sales from at first. Every network marketer should start with their warm market first.  That is the best and easiest way to get started, and it’s proven that this method works.

# 15 Reading is great, but it will get you nowhere if you don’t apply what you read. You can study until the cows come home, but at some point you have to roll up your sleeves and do the work.  The best way to learn is to take action.

get more customers# 16 Work on your mindset daily and create a daily routine for your business. We already talked about your daily routine, but your mindset is just as important.  You have to learn to think like a business owner.  Thinking like an employee will hold you back.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I thought the book was ok.  While I wouldn’t give this book a five star rating, I do believe it has some golden nuggets that anyone could apply in their network marketing business to find more customers.

    It seems like a standard idea that people only do business with those they trust, and yet there are some people who still resort to shady business practices and try to make it big. I have found that honesty and openness with customers helps them to feel more comfortable and thus they are more likely to do business and continue doing business with you.
