How to Create a Work Schedule for Your MLM Business: Sample MLM Work Schedule

Today, I want to educate you about creating a work schedule for your MLM Business.  We’re going to talk about what it is, why you need one, how to create one, and I will also provide a sample work schedule for your MLM Business.   Enjoy the training.

What It Is

A work schedule is a detailed list of how much time you will work your business, what days and what times you will work, and what activities you will do when you work.

Why You Need One

Time is quite perhaps our most precious asset.  A work schedule can help keep you focused so you can work smart.  You will know exactly what you need to do each day to move closer toward your business goals.  If you’re not naturally good with time management, this will help out a lot.

How to Create a Work Schedule

Step # 1: Determine Your Goals for the Week

With Step One, you will determine what your goals are for the week.  You should have written goals for how many prospects you want to contact, how many appointments you want to set, how many presentations you want to give, how many people you want to sponsor, how many new customers you want, your personal development goals, etc.

Step # 2: Determine How Many Hours You Will Work for the Week

Your next step is to determine how many hours you will work during the week.  You need to make sure that your time worked is realistic with your goals.  The bigger your goals are the more time you will need to work each week.  If you’re serious about your business, I recommend you schedule at least 10-20 hours of work per week.

Step # 3: Schedule Your Time for Each Day of the Week

Step Three is to set your weekly schedule for what days you will work and what times you will work your business each day.  Plan around your job and family commitments.  I suggest you plan out your week each Sunday night.  Make sure you also set aside some time for family time, time to read, and time to exercise. You might not work at the same time each day, but determine what days you will work and how many hours you will work each day.

Step # 4: Determine What You Will do Each Day

Your next step is to determine what tasks you will do each day of the week. The easiest thing to do is schedule in the routine tasks you do each week such as conference calls, webinars or training events.  After you do that, look at your goals and make sure you schedule activities for each day that will help you reach your goals for the week.

Step # 5: Write it Down and Post a Copy

Your final step is to finalize your work schedule, print it off, and keep a few copies for reference. Send a copy to your sponsor or upline.  Post a copy in your home office.  Keep a copy in your day planner.  Put a copy on the fridge.  Give a copy to your spouse.  Refer to it daily.

Thanks for sharing a daily work routine sample.

Exactly, setting goals is the first step when it comes to achieving anything out of your business. You’ll then figure out what you have to do to achieve those goals. After that you make a list of the tasks you need to do and divide each task into bite sized chunks. Then create a schedule where you perform the bite sized chunks each day and stick to it.

Good time management in the MLM industry is certainly an asset. You want to be wise with your time so you can get the most out of your business. Setting goals and then scheduling your week in a manner that aids you in achieving those goals is a great way to move things forward in your MLM. One of the worst things a person can do is not schedule their time because they then find themselves kind of wandering around rather than getting things done efficiently.

Great advice Chuck! Thank you for sharing this.

I know that I had to find ways to manage my time better. I had been using a similar system as what you had stated here, but what can happen to me often is those unexpected things. Maybe it is a flat tire or a water leak, or even worse, what just happened, a good friend of mine died (funeral was today).

Things such as that can really mess up a work schedule. Do you have good suggestions on how to play catch up? I often find myself working double the hours because of things like that.

I think every business owner should have a work schedule. It’s so easy to be busy and let the minutia take over your life. You have to keep the first things first and have a game plan every single day.
