How to Connect with Other Network Marketers

To really succeed in MLM you want to connect with other network marketers.  You want to form strategic alliances with people who have experience in the industry and have proven results.

It’s much better to sponsor ONE network marketing professional into your business than it is to sponsor 100 amateurs who have never been in the industry before.

Sponsoring just ONE successful network marketer could potentially lead to THOUSANDS of new team members for you.

You also have to realize that companies come and go.  Your network, not your downline, is your greatest asset!

So, what is the best way to connect with other network marketers?

I’m going to share some tips below on what I recommend you do:

1.  Attend All Company Conventions

You should attend ALL of your company’s conventions.  At the convention, identify the KEY leaders and introduce yourself to them.  Ask them for a business card.  Initiate a conversation with them.  Ask them if you could call them or email them from time-to-time with questions.  Most leaders are very receptive and approachable.

2. Attend Generic Training Seminars

Within our profession, there are hundreds of generic seminars put on by some of our industry leaders.  Whenever possible, try to attend one of these seminars every 90 days. Meet as many people as you can.  DO NOT pitch them your business.  Just talk with them and build a friendship with them.  Once again, stay in touch!

3. Publish a Newsletter for Network Marketers

One of the best things you can do to connect with other network marketers is to publish a monthly newsletter for network marketers.  This positions yourself as a leader and it shows others what you have to offer.  Some of the folks that read your newsletter will reach out to you.

4.  Create a Blog for Network Marketers

Creating a blog for network marketers is another great way to connect with other network marketers.  Once again, you show the value you have to offer.  People who like your blog will eventually get to know you, like you and trust you.

5. Create a YouTube Channel for Network Marketers

Video is very powerful.  This is another great way to connect with other network marketers. You can make videos about the industry that teach and inspire others.

6.  Write a Book

Writing a book is a major project, but it can produce a good return on your time investment. It positions you as a leader.  Some of the folks who read your book will reach out to you.

At the end of the day, you need to:

  • Provide value
  • Not pitch others
  • Help others
  • Stay in touch frequently

None of this is rocket science.  Most people just don’t have the discipline to do it!

These are just a few things you can do to connect with other network marketers.  Your ultimate goal is to build a BIG list of SUCCESSFUL network marketers who know you, like you and trust you. Cultivate the friendships. Stay in touch.  Do what you can to help others.

By doing so, many of these folks will see you as an ALPHA LEADER and will eventually want to work with you.  It really is that simple.

  1. Agree with a lot you said, in my experience people quit business all the time but rarely quit relationships. Building great relationships without trying to pitch anyone is the key, as Chuck said most people do not have the discipline to do this. Great advice Chuck.

  2. Conventions probably are a great way to meet other network marketers, but for someone like me those conventions can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. I prefer to meet with people in smaller settings because my attention can be easily diverted when I am in a larger space with larger numbers of people. But I know the potential for connecting is so much greater because the numbers of people are greater. SO maybe I have to overcome a bit of that public anxiety and go to conventions.

  3. These are all good tips. It is important to rub elbows with people in the same business as yourself, especially the successful ones. Ideally, meet and learn from those whom you consider more successful than yourself: it is the best way to learn. The most important thing that all of your tips have in common is that you just need to put yourself out there and pursue these relationships.
