One hour a day to build a thriving network marketing business is perfect for the person just getting started or wanting a part-time income! There is no need to become an information junkie or someone who doesn’t know when to quit for the day.
You don’t want to burn yourself out either. You can be much more effective and enjoyable to be around if you set specific times to grow your network marketing business. Your company may even provide an outline of specific activities that you should be doing daily.
When you think about your business, you should be excited about the journey you are on. Your business will take time to grow and the more specific you are about your desired outcome and expectations, the easier it will be for you to be successful.
If your company does not offer a specific DMO (daily mode of operation), you will need to create one yourself. You will want to hold yourself accountable to doing the daily tasks by either working with a mentor or an accountability partner.
I have come up with a list of what you can do to build your business if you only have one hour a day. My list may be different from yours and that’s perfectly fine.
I believe there are a few things you should do before you ever start building your network marketing business. The first thing is to figure out your WHY. Until you are solid on WHY you want to build a network marketing business, you’ll never get started. Make sure you set aside time to write down your why. Think about it for a few days to ensure it makes sense to you.
Assuming you already know your why you can follow the ideas below. What I’ve done is broken down your 60 minutes into smaller segments with steps covering exactly what to do.
1 minute – Start with the intention of benefiting the lives of others.
Gratitude and good will is what makes the world go round. When people know that you are sharing from the heart, they are usually more receptive to what you have to say. People want to be told, not sold.
When we can be of service to others, it is easy to step into the servant leader role. If that doesn’t resonate with you, it’s OK. I have just found that the most successful people in network marketing fit into that category. The great thing about this business is that you can work it how it best suits YOU.
2 minutes – Determine your daily goals
Write down EXACTLY what you are going to accomplish for the day with your network marketing business. Be specific. How many people are you going to call? Who? How many people will you follow up with? Who? Ultimately, you should have three to five goals that you want to accomplish each day you are working on your business.
30 minutes – Read or listen to something that will improve your business skills.
Most people join a network marketing company because their friend said they’d be good at it or they were sick of the status quo and went searching for something to do. Personal development is one of the most important parts of your network marketing business. You earn as you learn, and there is a lot to learn! If you commit to reading or listening to something that will improve your network marketing skills every day, and then take action on what you learned, you will be surprised what you can accomplish in a short time.
10 minutes – Send out 2 – 5 invitations to look at your product, service or business.
Connecting with people and asking them to look at what you are doing is the core income producing activity in your business. The more you share what you know, the more you will be rewarded for doing so.
Don’t over think or complicate the process. Use a tool (website, email, video or call, etc.) that you think will best fit their needs based off the conversation you had when you asked them to take action.
You can take the pressure of them by saying, “I don’t know if this is a good fit for you or anyone that you know of, just take a look and you can say, no thank you or I like what I see and let’s talk.” It’s that simple. Ask that question multiple times a day and see how lucky you get!
15 minutes – Follow up with at least 2 people you previously invited to take action.
All great networkers follow up. That doesn’t mean you have to hound someone until they buy something from you or join your team. It simply means you should keep the lines of communication open for as long as it’s mutually acceptable for both parties involved.
Your goal is to always get them to take the next step in the process of learning more about your product or company or to tell you they are not interested at this time. Let them decide where they see themselves and support them along the way.
2 minutes – Prepare for tomorrow.
The easiest way to keep momentum going is to prepare for it. Once you have completed your prior five action steps, you will want to take a few minutes and review who is next on your prospect list. Have confidence that people are looking for what you have to offer and you are doing what it takes to be successful in network marketing.
If you are not having success working your business your way, take your mentor’s suggestions or try doing the six action steps listed above. Track your progress and improve on any areas of concern.
Network marketing is easy to do and easy not to do. You decide how successful you will be. I believe anyone can be successful in this business with the right attitude and actions. Here’s to your success!
