Today I’ll be reviewing HB Naturals Hair & Body Bars. These bars are a luxurious blend of essential oils and other natural ingredients that will leave your hair and skin feeling clean and soft.
Not only do these bath bars leave you fresh and clean after use, they are also vegan and cruelty free. Each bar is hand-crafted and organic. They are formulated to detoxify and beautify your skin the way nature intended.
Not fully appreciated, the skin is the largest organ on our body. Anything that touches it is absorbed into the bloodstream within seconds.
Believe it or not, most popular bath and body products are loaded with toxic chemicals and carcinogens. So using a product formulated with 100% organic ingredients can help you keep your family clean guilt free!
HB Naturals makes four different bars that are safe for all skin types: Charcoal & Cocao, Patchouli, Lavender & Comfrey, and Rosemary & Peppermint.
Who is HB Naturals?
HB stands for heart and body. Yes, Heart and Body Naturals is a three year old network marketing company specializing in anti-inflammatory products. All products are Ayurveda formulated, organic, non-GMO, vegan, and cruelty free. Ayurveda is a traditional practice that has been around for thousands of years.
Ayurveda is considered by many scholars to be the oldest healing science. In Sanskrit, Ayurveda means “The Science of Life.” Ayurvedic knowledge originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is often called the “Mother of All Healing.” It stems from the ancient Vedic culture and was taught for many thousands of years in an oral tradition from accomplished masters to their disciples. Some of this knowledge was set to print a few thousand years ago, but much of it is inaccessible. The principles of many of the natural healing systems now familiar in the West have their roots in Ayurveda, including Homeopathy and Polarity Therapy.

In addition to HB Naturals Hair & Body Bars, the Ayurvedic company offers super-food nutritional products, CBD, skincare, bio-minerals, and pet products.
Although I am a fan of many HBN products, the Hair & Body Bars are some of my personal favorites. Let’s dive right in and see what’s in these amazing bars.
Charcoal & Cocao
First we have the handcrafted and luxurious organic Charcoal & Cacao Hair & Body Bar. This bar is designed to detox the skin. It is also great for the hair leaving it shiny and soft.
With activated charcoal as a main ingredient, this bar is a great detoxifier for your skin. In addition to skin detox, the charcoal helps remove oils, toxins, and pollutants from the hair. Charcoal also has a strengthening effect on the hair follicles. According to HBN corporate site,
Activated Charcoal and organic Cacao strengthen hair follicles while removing toxins, oils, and pollutants. Added Plantain Leaf and Cocoa Butter moisturize hair bringing luster and shine to every strand.

The second hair and body bar I want to review is the Hemp Seed Bath Bar, aka “Patchouli”. This bar is a luxurious blend of botanical extracts and essential oils. It contains hemp seed oil and is facial quality.
Patchouli is traditionally known for its “grounding, balancing, and mood-harmonizing effects.”
Patchouli Essential Oil’s active chemical components contribute to its therapeutic benefits that give it the reputation of being a grounding, soothing, and peace-inducing oil. These constituents make it ideal for use in cosmetics, aromatherapy, massage, and in home cleansing products to purify the air as well as surfaces. These healing benefits can be attributed to the oil’s anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, deodorant, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicide, sedative and tonic qualities, among other valuable properties.

Just like the Charcoal bar, the Patchouli bar contains Rosemary, Palm and Coconut Oil. Hence, you are getting all those wonderful ingredients and benefits in this bar as well.
If you are looking for a relaxing bath, the third and next bar is one of my favorites for a night-time, spa-like treat.
Lavendar & Comfrey
Lavender is a very popular essential oil. The plant is grown in the Mediterranean mountains and north Africa.
It is scientifically proven to effect the part of our brain that is responsible for relaxation. This esteemed essential oil can also treat infections, among other things.
According to a study published in 2013, by the National Institutes of Health:
Lavender is traditionally alleged to have a variety of therapeutic and curative properties, ranging from inducing relaxation to treating parasitic infections, burns, insect bites, and spasm. There is growing evidence suggesting that lavender oil may be an effective medicament in treatment of several neurological disorders. Several animal and human investigations suggest anxiolytic, mood stabilizer, sedative, analgesic, and anticonvulsive and neuroprotective properties for lavender.
Grown in parts of Europe, North America, and Asia, Comfrey is a shrub that grows up to 5 ft tall.
In traditional medicine, the leaves and root of the Comfrey plant have been used for over 2,000 years.
Comfrey is full of great vitamins and minerals that help nourish and protect your skin from free radicals. Surprisingly, it is used for skin ulcers, bruises, varicose veins, arthritis, and even fractures.
The chemicals in comfrey might have wound healing effects and reduce inflammation when applied to the skin.
A note about Comfrey: The plant contains poisonous chemicals, but the root and leaves are used as medicine. Although beneficial for mouth ulcers, Comfrey should not be ingested.
Acting as a detangler, Comfrey is also great for the hair. It is full of vitamins and minerals and antioxidants. The allatoiin (a substance known to help skin regrow), helps exfoliate and soften the skin.
The soothing and anti-inflammatory properties of Comfrey help soften the hair.
See below for ingredient highlights.
- Contains antioxidants which can help prevent signs of premature aging
- Soothes and calms the skin
- Inhibits the growth of skin bacteria
- Full of minerals, Vitamin A, Vitamin B12, and antioxidants
- Stimulates & exfoliates the skin
- Circulation booster and natural hair detangler
Rosemary & Peppermint
Lastly, we have my all-time favorite Rosemary & Peppermint bar. This bar is so refreshing and leaves your skin feeling invigorated. This is a great choice for an early morning shower.
Native to the Mediterranean, Rosemary is a very fragrant evergreen herb. It has many notable health benefits. Rosemary can help muscle pain and also boosts circulation.
Used for thousands of years, ancient civilizations considered Rosemary sacred.
The herb has been hailed since ancient times for its medicinal properties. Rosemary was traditionally used to help alleviate muscle pain, improve memory, boost the immune and circulatory system, and promote hair growth.

A hybrid of watermint and spearmint, peppermint is available in leaves, oils, or capsules. In the soap bar, the essential oil can help with skin conditions.
Similar to Rosemary, peppermint has a cooling effect on the skin. It also acts as a decongestant for clogged pores.
Below are some more highlights on these two ingredients.
- Anti-inflammtory, antibacterial, antifungal, and analgesic.
- Reduces acne, under-eye puffiness, and other minor skin irritations.
- Helps fight hair-loss.
- Contains Omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C, magnesium and potassium
- Antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory
- Acts as an astringent and helps unclog pores
HB Naturals Bath & Body Bars can be purchased on the retail site for $10.00 each. Each bar will last at least one month in my experience. Sometimes longer, depending on usage.
Another option for purchasing is to create a free wholesale account. Doing this will give you a 20% discount on all the products on the site. There is no obligation for auto-ship or selling when u create a whole-sale account.
Recommendations & Suggested Use
My favorite way to use the bars is to rub down my hair, starting at my forehead. I have long hair and that seems to work best for me. You can also rub the bar on your hands to lather it up and then apply to hair and body.
I don’t use additional conditioner because the bars are very moisturizing. However, you can use an apple cider vinegar rinse if you prefer. Or a conditioner of your choice.
See below two techniques highlighted on the corporate site for using the bars:
Hair Technique #1: Begin with thoroughly wet hair. Gently rub the wet shampoo bar directly onto your hair from scalp to ends in a combing motion. Gently massage scalp and hair, adding more water as needed, until a good lather forms. To prevent tangles, be sure to always work from the top down, don’t pile your hair on your head, and use your fingers like a comb not a mixer. Rinse, rinse, rinse! Repeat if necessary. Rinse with apple cider vinegar if desired.
Hair Technique #2: Begin with thoroughly wet hair. Rub the wet shampoo bar between your wet hands to create a nice lather. Use your fingers like a comb and smooth the lather along the hair. Gently massage it into the scalp and hair, as you would with a bottled shampoo. Work up a good lather. Rinse, rinse, rinse! Repeat if necessary. Rinse with apple cider vinegar if desired.
