HB Naturals CBD Overview

Today, I’m going to provide an overview of CBD oil and HB Naturals CBD Products. Since its legalization in all 50 states, CBD has taken the world by storm. And for good reason.

An increasing number of people are fed up with pharmaceutical drugs. Some medicines have down-right horrible side effects. More and more people today seek out natural remedies to treat their symptoms.

Luckily, CBD has come to the rescue. It treats headaches, seizures, anxiety and more.

Although CBD helps alleviate many symptoms, a lot of people are confused about what it really is. For instance, what’s the difference between THC and CBD? Or, the difference between CBD and hemp oil?

Additionally, terms like full-spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate can add to the confusion. There is so much information on this subject it can make your head spin.

When it comes to HB Naturals CBD and hemp oil products, there is something for everyone. The product line includes full-spectrum oil, hemp herbals, pet CBD, and personal care products. Everything is 100% organic and third party tested.

Before I introduce HB Naturals CBD products, let’s learn about CBD- what it is, how it works, and its history.

What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol and comes from the cannabis plant. People use it in multiple ways. For example, vaping, edibles, tinctures, and capsules. These are all ways to ingest CBD.

Extensive research demonstrates numerous health benefits of using CBD. It treats everything from depression to seizures.

With the exception of THC, all the benefits and health properties of the cannabis plant are present in CBD. THC is the part of the plant that delivers psychoactive effects. Since CBD contains negligible amounts of THC (if any), it will not get you “high.”

The Endocannabinoid System

There are hundreds of different types of cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. Just one of those is CBD.

According to The British Journal of Pharmacology, scientists discovered the very first cannabinoid receptors in 1988. These receptors are in the brain. They react specifically to THC.

A couple of years later, researchers found a cannabniniod receptor present in the immune and nervous system. These early studies were done on laboratory rats.

By 1995, we knew these receptors were also in humans and thousands of other species. These receptors are known as CB1 and CB2 respectively.

These scientific advancements uncovered an incredible signaling system. This system is now referred to as the endocannabinoid system.

When taken, the cannabis found in the cannabis flower stimulates the CB1 and CB2 receptors. When these receptors are stimulated, it triggers a cascade of physiological occurrences. These range from relaxation to pain and insomnia relief.

Likewise, your body naturally produces endocannabinoids. It is now popular scientific belief cannabinoid deficiencies cause many different unpleasant symptoms.

How Cannabinoids Work in the Body:

The endocannabinoid system is a vital component in maintaining your body’s homeostasis or balance. It is comprised of receptors that all interact exclusively with cannabinoids like CBD and THC.

Without getting too scientific, basically, our bodies were designed to work with cannabinoids and they are essential for overall health and well-being.

The endogenous cannabinoid system, named after the plant that led to its discovery, is perhaps the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. In each tissue, the cannabinoid system performs different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, the maintenance of a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment.

The Difference between CBD and THC

While CBD and THC are very similar in molecular structure, they interact with your CB1 And CB2 receptors differently. Because the molecular structure of THC binds directly with CB1 receptors, it creates a psychoactive effect.

In stark contrast, CBD does not bind with CB1 receptors and its presence can even negate the effects of THC.

Because THC and CBD have different molecular structures, they do not interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the same manner. This greatly differentiates the effects each has on the body, which is likely the biggest concern when comparing CBD to THC.

Since CBD doesn’t have the psychoactive effects of THC, it is growing in popularity.

Another reason for CBDs popularity is its lack of nasty side effects that are often associated with taking pharmaceuticals. Amazingly, it treats everything from chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, seizures, and other mental disorders.

Additionally, CBD  provides many of the medicinal properties of cannabis. For instance, it is a powerful relaxant and anti-inflammatory. Hence, people report relief from anxiety, stress and pain while using it.

Both THC and CBD offer great health benefits, but some people prefer not to have the effects of THC. When it comes to which one you choose, neither is better than the other. It really just boils down to personal preference and laws in your state regarding the presence of THC.

CBD vs. Hemp Oil

It can be confusing when companies refer to their products as CBD oil, CBD hemp, or Hemp oil. What does all this mean? Believe it or not, CBD and Hemp are two totally unique products offering many different benefits.

Traditionally, they are sourced from different parts of the cannabis plant. CBD oil comes from the whole plant while hemp oil is sourced from its seeds.

Hemp oil, now referred to as hemp seed oil, comes from hemp seeds and is a nourishing blend of nutrients, which is great for cooking or supplementation. CBD oil, often now called hemp oil, on the other hand, comes from hemp flowers, and interacts with our body’s endocannabinoid system to create an internal balancing effect.

Of course CBD is the main active ingredient in CBD oil. This compound helps regulate our endocannbinoid system. As mentioned above, this system helps us maintain internal balance, or homeostasis.

In order to get the CBD from the plant, it must undergo some sort of extraction process.

On the other hand, hemp oil is cold-pressed from the seeds of the plant. This method is used to maintain all the raw, nutritious contents of the seeds.

Different Uses:

Used widely in the holistic wellness space, CBD oil helps treat imbalances or deficiencies that cause unpleasant symptoms in the body or mind. To harness potentially therapeutic properties of CBD without any of the mind-altering effects of THC, hemp-derived CBD oil is used. This oil has high CBD content and low THC content (below 0.3%).

In contrast, hemp seed oil is popularly used in food and skincare products. This is because of its high nutritive value.

Hemp seed oil is often referred to as a super-food by health gurus. For this reason, it is found in food and personal care products. Of course, hemp seed oil is present in HB Naturals skincare line and the Patchouli soap bar (more on these later).

First, let’s sort out the differences among the different types of CBD oil.

Full-Spectrum, Broad Spectrum & CBD Isolate

First, full-spectrum CBD oil contains all the naturally occurring compounds found in the cannabis plant. This includes terpenes, essential oils, and other cannabinoids. These compounds work together to magnify the therapeutic effect of the plant.

This synergistic effect is often referred to as the “entourage effect.”

Source: British Journal of Pharmacology

On the other hand, broad spectrum CBD is similar to full spectrum as the compounds are preserved in the extract. Likewise, it is similar to CBD Isolate because the THC is completely removed.

Broad spectrum can deliver the magnified benefits of the “entourage effect” without the risk of a psychoactive effect or “high” that is common with THC.

Lastly, when all other compounds are removed from the plant, this produces the purest form of CBD. This is known as CBD isolate. Isolate is typically extracted from Hemp and has little (if any) THC content.

It was previously believed CBD Isolate was more effective than full-spectrum CBD, but this theory has been widely debunked.

Why is Full-Spectrum Important?

According to the HBN Corporate site:

Full spectrum CBD oil includes a wide range of cannabinoids present in the hemp plant. Full spectrum means that all available therapeutic compounds a plant has to offer have been extracted. Therefore, each drop of full spectrum CBD oil has all the same cannabinoids, terpenes, essential fatty acids, and vitamins &
minerals present in the hemp plant.

CBD Benefits

Now that we have a very basic understanding of CBD and how it works, let’s take a look at HB Naturals CBD products.

HB Naturals CBD offers many health benefits. You can also rest assured HB Naturals hemp is free of heavy metals, mold, or any other contaminant. This is one of the reasons I love their products.

Probably the most popular of all the HBN CBD products are the 500 mg and 1000 mg oils. Let’s look at the different choices you have with these two bottles.

Hemp Herbals 500 mg & 1000 mg Natural, Mint & Spice

HBN has three different flavor options with the 500 & 1000 milligram bottle. The descriptions are pretty close on the label of the 500 & 1000 mg bottles, with the exception of which essential oils are present.

The only difference with the 500 & 1000 mg bottle is the amount psychoactive full spectrum hemp. Obviously, the 1000 mg is twice as powerful.

The natural bottle is pure with no added essential oils. This is a great option for those who don’t wish to ingest essential oils.

Unlike the Natural, the Mint is infused with Copaiba and Peppermint essential oils. These added essential oils can help aid digestion, freshen breath, and boost immunity.

Lastly, the Spice has a deep green color and natural orange-cinnamon flavor. It is infused with Copaiba, Sweet Orange, Clove Bud, and Cinnamon essential oils.

Entourage

hb naturals entourage

Entourage is a great option for those who need a THC free product. It contains both hemp and black-seed oil.

For a really long time people believed cannabis was the only plant that triggered cannibinoids in the body. However, recent research reveals black-seed also activates the endocannabinoid system. According to the HBN corporate site:

For many years most scientists, believed that cannabis sativa was the only plant able to produce cannabinoids that activate the endocannabinoid system. Thanks to research in the last few years we now know cannabis is not the only plant that produces life-enhancing cannabinoids! In fact, just about every clinical study related to the health benefits of Cannabis sativa has also been done on its power-packed cousin, Nigella sativa, with similar powerful results!

Ingredient Highlights:

Black seed- Studies show this to be an endocannabinoid superstar. It is popular belief that black-seed has more therapeutic healing properties than cannabis!

Hemp Seed- Contains essential fatty acids that may benefit brain development. Hemp seed oil contains high quality nutrients that benefit overall health.

Copaiba- Contains high levels of a cannabinoid that interacts directly with the CB2 receptors in our body and may have neuroprotective benefits. Copaiba may also benefit the cardiovasular system and immune system. When taken internally, it has a powerful antioxidant effect in our body.
Hops-  Closely related to cannabis sativa and produces compounds and phytocannabinoids that interact with the endocannibinoid system similar to CBD.
Helichrysum- Used in traditional medicine historically to treat inflammation and illness.

Everyday is another pure, organic, Kentucky farm-fresh oil. This oil has a deep green color and a fresh minty taste. It is full-spectrum and infused in organic Copaiba, Frankincense, and Peppermint essential oils, along with organic hemp seed oil.

The Copaiba essential oil helps to strengthen the cannabinoids in the hemp providing neuroprotective, cardiovascular, and immune benefits.

Studies show Frankincense has strong anti-inflammatory properties. It may provide relief for arthritis, joint pain, and asthma. It may also help fight infections and illness.

There are numerous health benefits to peppermint including immune boosting properties. Peppermint also contains compounds that are antiviral, anitmicrobial, and antibacterial. This makes it effective in fighting everything from gingivitis to the flu.

Recommendations

If you are brand new to CBD it is best to start with a lower dose and gradually increase it. For instance, if you try 20 mg for pain relief, you may want to take that dose for a full week before increasing to 25 mg.

In addition, if you have a chronic health condition, always consult your doctor before starting a new supplement. I recommend keeping track of how much CBD you are taking and your results. It is a good idea to write down this information so you can refer to it and make adjustments until you get the relief you are looking for.

Order Some HB Naturals CBD
