Fast MLM Leads: What You Should Know

What are fast MLM leads? And where can you get them? That is a common question that many novice network marketers ask. If you are really desperate to get fast MLM leads, you can buy them from hundreds of different websites online.

But before you do that, I have a question for you. Why do you want fast leads? Is it simply that you want to get on the phone and try to “close” these prospects? If you are real good at “phone selling” and “closing” this might be a viable option, but for the typical network marketer, this approach won’t work very well. The typical network marketer is petrified of the phone. Or, they have horrible phone skills. The last thing they want to do is get on the phone and start calling people.

And if you buy fast MLM leads from a lead company, do you think your leads are actually going to be receptive to your idea? If you answered yes, you’re only kidding yourself. Most “leads” that you get from lead companies have been sold to at least five other distributors. That means the leads have been bombarded with business opportunity suggestions from people they don’t even know. By the time they get your call, they’re pissed off and WON’T join your business opportunity. Trust me, I can speak this from personal experience.

Don’t Pitch People

I get calls every day from people who visit my website and try to pitch their business opportunity to me. In one way or another, I tell them to “pound sand.” Sometimes I’m nice about it and sometimes I’m not. I find it very unprofessional to contact someone who hasn’t given you their permission to do so first. And many other people feel the exact same way.  Never forget that.

So, if you are close minded and only want fast MLM leads, so you can cold call them, there isn’t much I can do for you except wish you “good luck.”

A Different Approach

But if you are really serious about building your network marketing business, I’d like to offer you a different and better approach. Instead of buying leads from a lead company and then calling them, why not generate your own leads? Why not have prospects CALL YOU first and then you close them? This is what all the top earners do, and I suggest you do the sam thinge. And if you are good with this technique, you won’t need to close anyone. Instead, you will just answer questions and they will sell themselves on what you have to offer.

I’ve found that it’s ten times easier to close a sale when the prospect calls me first, rather than the other way around. When people call you first, they are not on the defensive. Instead, they are on the offensive. That means you become the hunted, instead of being the hunter.

Tips for Success to Generate Fast MLM Leads

So, how do you succeed with this approach? There are several different ways, but it all boils down to direct response advertising. Direct response advertising is when you place an ad with an offer, and people respond to you. Then, you simply follow up with the people who called you first. Doesn’t this sound so much better than cold-calling people?

Here’s one example of how it works. You place an ad in your local newspaper. It could say something like: “Lose weight. Have fun. Help People. And Make Money. Call Jim at (555) 555-5555.” Obviously if you don’t sell weight loss products, your ad would differ slightly. When people call you, they are not defensive or expecting to be sold. Instead, they are asking to learn more about your offer. This puts you in the driver’s seat. Does that make sense?

Another simple technique is to create a capture page on the internet. You could promote your capture page through pay-per-click advertising and collect leads by offering a free special one page report in exchange for their contact information. Or, you can offer a free video. When someone inputs their information, you have a lead. Better yet, you have a qualified lead. All you need to do is follow up with them.

I think the quickest way to generate fast MLM leads is to use Pay Per Click advertising.  You can set up a capture page and then send a flood of traffic to it within a couple hours.  Of course, this can get VERY expensive and you can lose your shirt if you don’t know what you are doing. But, it does work!

I hope this information makes your spider senses tingle. The days of buying “fast MLM leads” and “cold-calling” people are long gone. And don’t even think about prospecting people at your local mall. If you are still using these approaches, you won’t make it very long in this industry.

In conclusion, anyone can buy fast MLM leads from any of the hundreds of different online lead websites. But typically, this is a big waste of money. The smart network marketer takes a different approach and uses direct response advertising. When she does this, she becomes the hunted instead of being the hunter.   1. I never would have thought to use response advertising to build fast leads. I’ve done some pay-per click ads to drive traffic to my website and so it makes sense. I would not want to do cold calling. But do you think it would be a wise investment to purchase a targeted list to do a direct mail campaign? I know it may be seen as junk mail because they don’t know me but at least it’s in their hands and in their homes.

  2. Your articles are always full of good advice. I agree with you that direct response advertising is a much better alternative to cold calling. As Greg points out, the “do not call” lists and the associated fines could make cold calling not only time consuming, but a costly mistake. It seems much better to saturate your market with the offer of information, and then let the people come to you. (Thank you for providing an advertising sample here.)

  3. Your website is full of ways to develop your own leads. I would highly recommend that for that person who is searching for fast MLM leads, that you read through this whole website first. There are plenty of ways to get better leads. They may not be as fast as you want them, but they will probably be better leads. In most cases, the leads you purchase have been bought by many others. They have been called by multiple MLM people like yourself. Getting anywhere with them will be very hard work. Find a better lead getting system.

  4. Yes, you are correct; the days of cold calling are dead and gone. It is actually a dangerous game when you cold call people anymore. There have been some I know who have “bought” leads just to find that the prospect signed up for a do not call list and the State they live in fines callers for breaking it. I know of one person who had to pay out $1000 in fines after paying $300 for a bunch of leads. I think he said he made about $200 off the leads. Hmmm, lost $1100 on the cold call system. I like your way much better Chuck.

    1. Cold calling can get you in a lot of trouble if you don’t know what you are doing. It’s important to educate yourself about the laws first so you don’t get a hefty fine or jail time.
