Dr. Joe Rubino The 7 Step System to Building a $1,000,000 Network Marketing Dynasty – Book Review

I recently read The 7 Step System to Building a $1,000,000 Network Marketing Dynasty: How to Achieve Financial Independence Through Network Marketing by Dr. Joe Rubino.

My friend Joe sent me a copy of the book in the mail so I figured I would check it out. It took me four or five days to finish it, and I did enjoy it. Overall, I give it 3 of 5 stars and think it has some valuable content in it that would benefit any network marketer.

Top Joe Rubino Quotes from The 7 Step System to Building a $1,000,000 Network Marketing Dynasty

What I want to do in the rest of this post is share some of my favorite Joe Rubino quotes from the book. Each quote is in bold and italics. At the end of each quote I will also provide my own thoughts. They are listed in no particular order. Enjoy.

# 1: Network marketing, like other skilled professions, is both an art and a science.

To succeed in this industry you need to develop a special skill-set, just like you would in any other profession.

# 2: Many who earn $10,000 or more monthly in network marketing have sponsored only four to six leaders who have gone on to sponsor a handful of others.

Most of your volume, growth and income will be tied to the growth of just a few people. Most top earners make most of their income from fewer than three lines in their organization.

# 3: When an independent distributor chooses a stable company to build in, she dramatically improves the odds of her organization enduring into the next century.

Ideally, you want to pick a company that is established, reputable and proven. The last thing you want to do is join a start-up company that might go bankrupt in the next few years. Why? Most network marketing companies fail.

# 4: Develop an unshakable belief in the value of the income opportunity that your products make possible.

BELIEF is the starting point of success. You must believe in yourself, your company, your products and the industry if you expect to become successful. You can’t fake belief. You either have it or you don’t.

# 5: Order your company’s catalogs, prospecting brochures, or audio or videotapes.

Use the business tools your company has available so you can work smart. Leverage third-party tools to remove yourself from the equation.

# 6: Please do not prejudge people.

At the end of the day, you never know who will join and build it and who won’t. Talk to everyone and anyone and let people decide for themselves.

# 7: Speaking with one hundred prospects over the course of a week will produce far greater results than speaking with the same hundred over a year’s time.

Take massive action. Talk to a large amount of people in a short amount of time to compress your efforts.

# 8: I prefer to specifically target people interested in earning a life-impacting income.

Talk to prospects about the financial possibilities that this industry offers. This is how you will find your best leaders. If you only talk about the little money you will only attract part-timers. If you talk about the big money you will attract leaders.

# 9: I define a leader as a business builder who conducts his or her business methodically and on a regular, consistent basis.

Even if you’re building your business part-time, you need set business hours and a daily mode of operation if you plan on ever being successful.

# 10: I suggest you consider that out of every 100 prospecting conversations, one do-whatever-it-takes business builder and leader will emerge who will go on to build a significant organization resulting in the creation of long-term residual income.

Only a very small percentage of people you talk to and sponsor will be serious about the business. The good thing is that just 1-2 of these people can change your life financially (in a good way).

328 The gold really is in the follow up

# 11: Many of your leaders will come in on the fourth, seventh, or even the tenth follow-up conversation! The gold really is in the follow-up.

Make sure that you follow-up with prospects until they buy or die. Most people I personally sponsor take anywhere from seven to twenty follow-ups before they join my team.

# 12: I built my network marketing dynasty from a commitment to make five quality conversations daily for two years.

Talk to five people a day for a year and you would talk to 1,825 people. If you sponsored just one in twenty people you talked to you would sponsor 91 people!

# 13: It will be much more productive to direct your efforts on supporting people to succeed rather than simply chasing volume.

Once you sponsor someone, help them get started. When someone is working hard, match their efforts. Never build a business for someone, but realize that it makes more sense to work in depth than to just keep sponsoring new people yourself.

# 14: Cold calling comes down to a numbers game.

Smile and dial. You have to work the numbers when you are cold calling people. Most people will not be interested in what you have to offer. Don’t take the rejection personally. Just keep dialing.

# 15: Rejection means only that she is closer to a yes.

Calculate the value of a NO in your business. If you get $100 for every person you sponsor and you sponsor one out of every 10 people you talk with that means that every person you talk to is worth $10. The more No’s you get the more Yes’s you will get.

# 16: I have had great success with classifieds that target specific professions or groups.

Consider doing some niche marketing for your business via classified ads. Find groups of people with similar demographics and focus on advertising to those groups exclusively. Examples might include realtors, stay at home moms, small business owners, insurance agents, etc.

# 17: If you advertise product, you’ll attract mainly product users.

Advertise the products to find customers. Advertise the business to find builders. Advertise your vision to find leaders.

# 18: Beware that the quality of a leads list is not always proportionate to the cost.

When buying leads, you never really know what you are getting. Buy the cheapest leads you can find or learn how to generate your own leads.

# 19: Personal contact with the prospects who want to learn more through a phone conversation complete with rapport building, partner-shipping, and team-building support are critical elements necessary for building a network marketing dynasty.

Support your team. Get to know your people. Be a servant leader.

# 20: Sales pressure, begging, and coercion are of little value in this business.

Have posture and confidence. Do not beg, pressure or coerce anyone. Treat everyone with respect, collect a decision from them and move on. If you have to talk someone into the business you’re going to have to “convince” them to do anything at all.

If they are to build a business long term

# 21: If they are to build a business long-term, they must possess self-motivation.

We are the captain of our own battleship. No one else can make us successful. Each one of us is responsible for our own success. You can’t motivate others. They have to motivate themselves.

# 22: Contribute value to your prospects’ lives.

We get paid based upon the value we bring to the marketplace. Do what you can to help your team members. Be their friend. Treat them well. It’s a smart business move.

# 23: Get to know your product line inside and out.

The more you know about your products the better. Know the features and benefits of your products. Be your own best customer. Develop your own product story.

# 24: The more areas of interest your prospect shares with you, the more likely he is to like you, trust you, and want to be with you.

People want to work with people that they know, like and trust. Work on your people skills so you can get along with people.

# 25: Be respectful of the other person’s time.

Start and end meetings on time. Keep your presentations short. Value your own time and value other people’s time as well.

# 26: We credited massive action as half of the equation essential for success. The other half concerns how attractive you are as a sponsor and business partner and how effectively you are able to communicate your ability to support your prospects to realize their dreams.

Do the work and become someone worth joining. Be the type of person you want to sponsor. People don’t join businesses, they join people.

# 27: My success began when I made the decision to step into leadership.

Act like a leader. Lead by example at all times. Inspire others by your actions.

# 28: By speaking your vision, you will inspire others to want to join you in its accomplishment.

People can get excited about a strong vision. Share your vision for financial independence with everyone you talk to. You never know who you will inspire.

# 29: Effective network marketing leaders avoid hype, arrogance, and domination.

Just keep it real with people. Treat everyone with respect. Be honest and sincere. Treat everyone as well as you would treat your own mother or daughter. Follow the Golden Rule.

Its important that you hold meetings regularly v2

# 30: It’s important that you hold meetings regularly, no matter how poor the attendance at first.

Meetings will make you money. Hold meetings every week for your team. This will be the springboard that helps develop and grow your team.

  1. With many of these books you have reviewed Chuck, I notice many consistent items, but one that seems to stick with me is the fact that a person can make it big just by sponsoring 5 or 6 people. Some network marketers have this idea that they need to sponsor 1,000;s of people and where the problem lies there is: you don’t have the ability to work with each of those people. When you get 5 quality people, you then start helping them build and you create depth. It is so simple that a caveman could do it, but we make it difficult.

    Very good review sir!

  2. The point about not prejudging people is an interesting one. To some extent I think you can read people to determine what their motives are and whether or not they are truly interested in the business. But, then again people can surprise you. That definitely opens my mind a little bit more to not make assumptions about people’s interest and simply remain open to people who may be interested that I might not normally consider.

    1. Good points, Diamond. You never know who will be interested or not. Every time I think I have someone figured out, I am normally wrong. Talk to a lot of people and be detached to what each person says or does. That is the key to success.

  3. Networking has always been one of them things that both scared me and excited me at the same time. I enjoyed reading the review about this book but for my skill level, since I am just starting out, I think this is one I will have to come back to. A lot of what you covered really opened my eyes and made me better understand everything though so thank you for that!

  4. One of my friends has this book in hard copy so I borrowed it and read it almost half. And after reading this post I must say I completed the book fully. You almost mention all essential parts of the book. Thanks.

  5. Out of all the books that you have reviewed, this one sounds the most enticing. The author sure knows how to create a strong, tempting title! I will check this out for sure, thanks.
