The key to success in our great profession is to create a game plan for your MLM business and then to stick to that game plan for at least 18 to 24 months, without questioning your initial decision, having doubts, or changing course!
Put on your blinders, get to work, follow your plan, and never look back.
That would be some of the best advice I could ever share with you if you want to succeed.
Our profession is quite weird.
Traditional business owners typically invest minimum $10k to $100k just to start a business and they don’t expect to make a profit or get their money back for at least three to five years.
Yet, when someone joins network marketing they QUIT after they haven’t gotten rich in their first 90 days.
I really don’t understand that mindset, but it is a common reality in our industry.
If you want to succeed in network marketing, you need to create a game plan and then have the DISCIPLINE to work that game plan EVERY DAY for at least 18 to 24 months.
Creating the game plan is the easy part.
It’s the discipline, and execution of that plan that most people mess up.
Your game plan could be as simple as:
- Talk to five people a day
- Show 10 presentations per month
- Sponsor 2 new distributors each month
- Find 2 new customers each month
- Read for 15 minutes per day
- Attend all local and regional events
Doesn’t that sound simple to do?
The truth is: it is simple to do.
Anyone COULD do it, if they really wanted to.
Once again, where people mess up is they don’t have the discipline to follow their game plan every single day, no matter what.
They let life get in the way.
I see it all the time with people on my own team.
Their kid gets sick so they put their business on the back burner.
They go on vacation and don’t do anything while they are away.
Monday Night Football comes on so they watch the game.
They refuse to put their hobbies on the back burner.
They are tired after a long day of work so they come home and rest.

You know what’s funny?
People are VERY quick to put their business on the back-burner.
They go to their job every day, no matter what.
My mindset is that if you are disciplined enough to go to work every day, have the same level of discipline to work your network marketing business each day.
After all, your business is the only thing I know of that can actually help you get rid of that job and take charge of your own life.
Think about this for a minute…
If you owned a traditional business and didn’t have set hours, or didn’t open your store each day, do you think you would make sales or make money?
The answer is NO.
The same thing happens in MLM.
If you don’t do the money producing activities every day in your network marketing business, you won’t make money.
You can think about your business 24/7, but until you do the work nothing else really matters.
What’s really great about our industry is that you can build an empire, a financial legacy, in a relatively short amount of time, if you have a game plan, stay disciplined and do the work.
We are the only industry I know of that you can create a substantial residual income in such a short amount of time with MINIMAL capital investment.
You literally can change your life in just 18 to 24 months.
Where else can you do that?
Most folks are just undisciplined and short-sighted. They let today’s issues keep them from changing their future. They don’t know how to manage their time well, so their time manages them.
The people who make it and make it big in our industry follow the advice I listed in this article.
They create a game plan and they stick with it for at least 18 to 24 months.
They don’t question what they are doing in month two or month three when they haven’t made any money yet!
They know that if they do the work and follow their plan, things will work out the way they want them to!
They believe in themselves, the company, the industry, and their products and they have a VISION about where they are headed.
That vision MOTIVATES them to work their business every day!
That vision keeps them from getting frustrated and quitting.
That is what you are going to have to do if you want to succeed in MLM, too.
You need vision, a game plan for your MLM Business, and the willingness to work your business every single day.
