Today, I want to talk about collecting business cards to generate leads for your MLM Business.
Most people will tell you how important it is to have a professional looking business card. I agree that having a professional looking business card is important.
But have you ever noticed how FEW people that you give a business card to actually call you or email you back? I’d bet it’s much less than one percent.
That means you’re spending money, time, and lots of hard work handing out business cards to people who aren’t going to call you back!
Why in your right mind would you keep doing that?
I think there is a much better strategy than just handing out business cards.
No, I’m not talking about taking business cards off of local bulletin boards and contacting them about your business; although that is better than doing nothing at all.
Instead, there is a much better approach. Here’s what I recommend.
Whenever you are out and about meeting people and talking to people, get THEIR business card.
Have a nice friendly conversation with them and ask them if it would be okay to stay in touch with them from time-to-time.
Most professional, business minded people understand networking and they are more than willing to give you their business card or contact information.
Do yourself a favor and leave your business cards at home. When you go to exchange business cards, search your pockets for a moment, and just tell the person that you must have forgotten your business cards at home. Simply ask for their business card and tell them you will be in touch.
Do you think you could do that?
I’ve done this many times and it works very well. I’ve never had anyone tell me NO.
At the end of the day you want your prospect’s contact information. That way you can follow up with them whenever you want to.
This puts you in control.
You can call the prospect any time you want, rather than sitting around hoping the prospect will call you.
What are your thoughts about this strategy of generating leads? Leave a comment below and let me know. I look forward to hearing from you.
