Chuck’s MLM Weekly Wisdom # 44 – July 8, 2015
Dear Network Marketer:
I hope you are happy, healthy and well. Welcome to this week’s edition of Chuck’s MLM Weekly Wisdom. Enjoy the training.
# 1 Tip of the Week
My tip of the week this week is to focus on activities, not results. One common mistake I see people make in our industry (including myself at times) is focusing on things they have no control over!
At the end of the day you have no control over what other people do. You can’t control if your team members sponsor someone new. You can’t control if your prospect joins the business or not. You can’t force your team members to stay on auto-ship. You can’t control if your team members quit, stay in, or do nothing! The ONLY thing you can control is what you do!
If you want to be smart about your business, and reduce your stress (and be happier), focus on your activities not the results. Determine the three to five activities you are going to do daily (money producing activities) and focus on that exclusively. Here are some examples of what I am talking about:
- I will prospect two new people each day
- I will make five calls each day to set appointments
- I will follow up with two prospects each day
- I will show the plan twice per week
- I will talk to three people per day about becoming a customer
- I will send five private messages per day on Facebook to new prospects to introduce them to the business
Doing any of these activities consistently will move your business forward. Once again, if you focus on activities that you can control, your results will naturally follow. You’ll be happier, more productive and have less stress. On the other hand, if you just focus on results, you will probably get frustrated and quit. Food for thought!

# 5 Book of the Week
This week’s book of the week is “No B.S. Sales Success” by Dan Kennedy. Although this is not a network marketing book, I still think it’s a must read for anyone in our industry. Dan is my # 1 business mentor of all time. It’s got some great ideas on how to get people to reach out to you first, so you don’t have to prospect people. He also shares some great lead generation strategies that I use myself. I give the book a 9 of 10 and consider it to be one of the most important books in my leader’s library. Order it on Amazon.
# 6 Quote of the Week
My quote of the week this week is “Prospects, customers and clients at all levels – from the kitchen table to the corporate boardroom – still buy on emotion and justify with logic.” ~ Dan Kennedy
My Take: This quote is from the book I recommended above. At the end of the day, you need to learn how to appeal to people’s emotions. Once you find out what your prospect REALLY wants, you can use that to your leverage. Focus on benefits, not features. Get good at telling stories and drawing the prospect in. Don’t bore your prospect with facts. Focus on their hot button instead.

# 9 Weekly Challenge
My challenge for the week this week is to work your business minimum one hour per day, for seven straight days. Focus on the money producing activities during that time. My reason for having you do this is to help you form some new habits, so you will get in the routine of working your business consistently, not just when it is convenient for you.
# 10 Clean But Funny Joke
Don’t argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience!
