Chuck’s MLM Weekly Wisdom – December 31, 2014

Dear Network Marketer:

I hope you are happy, healthy and well.   First and foremost, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year.  2014 was a great year, but I am very excited about 2015.  I’m sure you are too.

I appreciate you being a valued subscriber and I hope that you find value in our weekly training emails (and on our website).

Here is this week’s issue of Chuck’s MLM Weekly Wisdom.  Enjoy.

# 1 Create a Business Plan – Network marketing is a real business, if you treat it like one. Every successful business I’ve studied had a written business plan.  Do you have a written business plan for your network marketing business?  I hope so.  If not, you can check out this link to see how to create your own business plan.  Spend an hour or two and write down your one page business plan.  This will help you set your goals for 2015 and you will also have an action plan that will identify what you need to do each day to be successful.

# 2 Do a 90 Day Challenge – One of the best things you can do to start the year out strong is to do a 90-day challenge.  This is where you take massive action for a 90-day period to create huge momentum in your MLM Business.  I’ve done this myself with great success and I know it can work for you.  Basically, you set some big goals to sponsor 20 or 30 people in a 90-day period of time.  This will give your business that added jump start so you can create momentum and have a great year.  Read more about the 90-day challenge here.

# 3 Book I’m Reading Right Now – The book I’m reading right now is “Insider Tells All: Ultimate Recruiting System” by Mike Demetro.  This book is AMAZING.  I first found it on a Facebook ad several years ago, but I just ordered it last week.  It is an exact system that anyone can use to build their network marketing business.  I got my copy in the mail yesterday and I should be done reading it today!  I can’t put it down.  I plan on buying copies for my serious distributors on my team in January.  I think it’s that good.  This guy sponsored 229 reps in less than 90 days, so he knows what he is doing.  I bought my copy used on Amazon for just $4, which includes shipping.  Here is the link if you want to check it out.

# 4 The Best Thing You Can Do in 2015 – The best thing you can do in 2015 is start building your list!  Beginning January 1st, fill out an index card for EVERY person you meet, you talk to or who contacts you.  Write down their contact information, when you talked with them, what you talked about, etc.  Keep their index card on file and follow up with them minimum every 90 days.  Remember a NO today does not mean a NO forever.  If you talk to just two people a day for a year, you would have 730 people on your list.  Think about that.  The money really is in the list.

# 5 Connect with Me on Social Media –  If you haven’t done so already, I’d ask you to join my free Facebook MLM Mastermind Group.  I share free training tips every day.  It is a non-recruiting zone.  I also have a new fan page for my website.  Maybe you can check that out and like it.  Or, you could follow us on Twitter.  Finally, if you haven’t done so already yet, maybe you can subscribe to my YouTube channel.

# 6 Tips on Giving Presentations – My best tip on giving presentation is DON’T DO IT yourself.  You should always use a third party tool to give your presentation for you.  Not only does this free up your time, but it keeps the business simple.  If you give your prospect a fancy, one hour long presentation, they might like it, but the odds of them actually joining your team are very slim.  They will applaud you for giving a good presentation, but they will say to themselves that they could never do what you do.  Use webinars, CDs, conference calls, and audios to do your presentations for you.  This gives you leverage and lets you work smart.  Here are some more tips on how to give a presentation.

# 7 Two Skills You Can’t Live Without – Two of the best skills you can develop is asking questions and listening. Some folks think that the best talkers are the ones who do the best in this industry.  I disagree. If you want to stay in control of the conversation when you talk to people, learn how to ask questions.  Answer their questions with questions.  Listen attentively.  Don’t think about how you are going to respond to what they say.  Maintain eye contact, lean forward and listen.  So few people do this, so it will make a big difference.  Have 10-20 questions you can ask your prospect.  Pay attention to them when they talk.

# 8 The 5/2/1 Method for Success – I like the 5/2/1 method for success.  This basically boils down to calling five prospects a day, following up with two people per day and calling one team member each day. If you did that five days a week for a year, you would call 1300 prospects, follow up with 520 people and talk to 260 team members.  How big do you think your business would be if you did that?

# 9 The Fastest Way to Build Your Business – Without a doubt, the fastest way to build your network marketing business is to use the phone!  You can easily make 10-20 phone calls per hour.  Compare that to driving around town doing one-on-one meetings and home parties.  Yes, those methods work, but you can work through massive numbers by using the phone.  Working your business just an hour a day, you could easily contact 300 to 600 people per month!  How exciting is that?  Pick up the phone.  It doesn’t weight 500 pounds.  It is a valuable resource once you understand it.

# 10 Lose Weight in 2015 – Nearly  2 out of 3 Americans are overweight. If you are looking to lose weight or get healthy in 2015, I can help you.  I have some great weight loss products and I offer free coaching and a support group for anyone who wants to become a customer of mine.  We can all help each other reach our fitness goals. I am a list maker by nature so of course, that is one of things that appealed to me the most out of this post. Also, by keeping a list, you can keep with how many times and how often you have reached out to each person. If you just randomly go contacting people you may forget who you have talked to and who you haven’t (I know I would).
I also love hearing all of your book recommendations!

I wanted to delve into the telephone wisdom even deeper. You can get a lot done in your network marketing business by just “smiling and dialing.”

As a former telemarketer, I wrote and published a book called The Telemarketer’s Handbook. If you have a good “pitch” you can cold call people and get customers and/or distributors. It is all in the approach.

Now cold calling isn’t for everyone, but if you are using a capture page to attain leads, I believe once you have contact information, instead of using email, you should call them. Always be persistent, but not pushy. So many people think that pushy and persistent are the same, but they are not.

Use the phone to build your network marketing business.

I was not aware that I could connect with you on Facebook. I will make that move immediately. I really appreciate you for being so open and honest about what to expect in the MLM industry and how to navigate through it with success.

I also like the 5/2/1 plan. It makes the process of reaching out to people a lot simpler and makes is appear much more manageable to build prospects and reach out to team members. Good information.

You have a knack for providing wisdom in easy to understand ways Chuck.

1- No business will succeed without a plan. This goes for MLM businesses too.
2- A 90 day challenge sounds like a great jumpstart.
3- As an author, most of my education came from reading.
5- As a member of your Facebook page, I find it is a great place to gain wisdom from others.
9- I also agree that in business, the phone can be your best friend.
10- I actually need to gain weight. That’s a new one huh? LOL

Thanks for the great tips Chuck.
