How To Build a Large ACN Downline

If you’re involved with ACN as a distributor and you’re looking for information on how to build a large ACN downline, you are definitely in the right place.

What I want to do in the paragraphs below is share seven steps that will help you get the job done.

Let’s get started.

1.  Make a Commitment:  Without a doubt the first step to build a large ACN Downline is to make a commitment to do so.

Agree to commit AT LEAST three solid years to build your business where you will work on your business at lease one hour a day every day.

If you really want a large team with ACN you have to be willing to invest time, energy, and money for a few years.

Success will not happen by accident.

Also, there is a big difference between a goal and a dream.

A dream is something you think about.

A goal is a specific dream that is written down and given a deadline.  

If you aren’t willing to commit a few years of hard, consistent work to build your ACN business, you are only kidding yourself.

No top earner with ACN stumbled into that position.

They were all very committed to their success, usually from day one.

Remember, most businesses take at least a year just to get profitable and to learn what you are doing.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

No matter what you do, you won’t have a large team or make a lot of money in your first few months.

ACN is not a get rich quick type of business.

2.  Pick One Lead Generation Strategy and Master It: In the beginning, your key to success in building a large ACN team is to learn how to sponsor other people.

You have to sponsor 50 to 100 people personally as quickly as possible so you can find several really serious people.

I’ve found that about one in thirty people are really serious, so you definitely need to work the numbers.

In order to do that, you need to learn how to generate leads!

Sure, you can start with your warm market, but after you go through that list you need a game-plan.

There are many ways to generate ACN leads, such as blogging, prospecting in day-to-day life, pay-per-click ads, Facebook, video marketing, etc.

acn photoI highly suggest you pick one lead generation strategy and master it.

Don’t try to do a bunch of different things to generate leads.

You will only dilute your efforts if you do that. Instead, pick the one lead generation strategy that matches your personality and skill set and don’t deviate!

Become so good at that lead generation strategy that you are an expert at it.

Only then should you try out some other lead generation strategies.

3. Sift and Sort: Inexperienced ACN distributors pitch and sell their prospects, whereas top earners sift and sort through prospects.

This is a very valuable lesson.

It’s not your job to convince, pressure or persuade people to join your ACN downline.

Instead, you want to sift and sort through your prospects to find interested people.

If you are good at generating leads, you will have plenty of leads to sift and sort through.

And you will find people who are looking for what you have to offer.

4. Train Your Team: Attrition is a problem is most MLM Companies, including ACN.

This happens for a variety of reasons.

Most reasons are beyond your control.

Most people who join our industry shouldn’t own their own business to begin with.

However, you can improve your attrition by training your team.

You can do conference calls, create a training website, send out training emails, etc.

You want to teach your ACN team how to generate leads, how to sift and sort through prospects, how to find customers, how to sponsor and teach, and how to train their team.

5. Plug Everyone Into Your System: This goes hand in hand with the previous tip.

Make sure that everyone you personally sponsor into your ACN business and everyone in your team is plugged in to your system.

In most cases, you will use your upline’s system.

If they don’t have one, you can keep looking upline for one or you can create your own system.

Your system provides training, focus, and motivation for your team.

Simply put, it is a standardized way to train your team and grow an ACN business.

Systems really are the key to success in business.

You have to remember that everyone likes to belong to something greater than themselves and everyone needs training and motivation.

Your system could be something as simple as a weekly training call, a weekly presentation call, and a training website with videos and helpful articles.

Always promote the system!

Try to get everyone plugged in!

Sure, some of your folks won’t want to use your system.

They will just do their own thing.

That’s fine.

On a side note, you have to remember that most of the people on your team have never owned a business before.

Most of your team members know nothing about sales and marketing.

Therefore, you will probably need to guide (or tell) your new team members WHAT to do when they are just starting out.

Your system will help you do that.

6. Spend Most of Your Time Working in Depth: After you have 50 to 100 people personally sponsored, or you have three to five REALLY SERIOUS distributors, you should shift your efforts and focus 80% or more of your time working in depth.

Always work at the bottom most point of your ACN team.

Always work with the newest distributors.

That’s where all the excitement is.

Start working in depth and never stop!

Your goal is to develop (or find) leaders who follow your lead and run with it!

Personally, I would rather have six legs with 100 people in each leg, than 20 legs with 30 people in each leg.

Remember, width brings you profits, but depth in your ACN organization brings you long-term stability (and big money).

Additionally, it’s important to know that when you create a fire in the basement, everyone else above them gets excited.

If you can help the person 30 levels deep build a large team, that will automatically motivate the 29 people above them.

And that is what you want to happen.

7.  Constantly Improve Your Own Skills: My final tip for building a large ACN downline is to constantly improve your own skills.

Each month, make it a point to read a few self-help and business books.

Attend two to four seminars per year.

Listen to one audio training program a week.

Always strive to improve.

Study materials about sales, marketing, business, conflict resolution, recruiting, people skills and other topics.

The more you grow as a person, the more your business will grow.

My best advice is to develop a game plan, take massive action, and learn from your mistakes.

Be persistent and consistent.

Try and keep things simple.

You need to get good at sponsoring and teaching.

You don’t need to become a superstar recruiter, because people will drop out as quickly as you sponsor them (if you don’t spend time helping them).

Instead, you want to sponsor a few serious people and start working in depth right away.

Keep in mind that it will probably take you three to five years to build a six figure income with ACN.

    I agree that it is so important to stay close to your new team members and get them feeling comfortable with the compensation plan, the product and their approach. Consistently reading success stories and strategy books like Chuck has reviewed and listed in his Top 39 MLM and NM Books of All Time, will give you great insight on how to train your team and help you keep your training meetings fresh and exciting. Some people will not want to go through any training. I signed someone up like that once who thought they knew all they needed to know and wouldn’t partake in any meetings or follow-up. Need I say, I never heard from her again. I was confused and disappointed, but I didn’t let it get me down for long. There are a lot of great people out there who are coachable and want to be a part of a successful team. Often it just takes time to find them, but don’t give up.

    Do you have a post more on training your team? I would love tips on this. I am not sure where to start when it comes to this. I know that proper training is very important but manning a team can be a challenge when you are new to MLM.

    I have done some ACN research myself. I was wondering if it is available here in Puerto Rico. I don’t see where they are as of yet. I do see that ACN has had some issues with contractors “slamming” people and changing their phone service without permission. Contractors need to have good training to make sure this doesn’t happen anymore. Donald Trump endorses ACN and that is a great sign.

        I believe you are correct. Puerto Rico has some issues with monopolies, and much of the phone networks fall into that category. There is also many issues with taxes. Laws here go from old Spanish laws to United States laws and the officials get confused. Many of the large corporations are leaving the island because tax breaks have ceased.

        Hopefully things turn around and companies like ACN can come to Puerto Rico.

    I am new to the MLM and only a few days in however, I live in a small town and people are so skeptical and set in their ways they wont even take time to sit down with me. I need motivation because I keep getting shot down. My team leaders are very supportive but it is difficult because i am 30 miles away from my nearest team leader. How do I get my local skeptic to talk to me? Please help.

      It would help to know:

      1. What are you saying to people?
      2. Are you leading with the products or business opportunity?
      3. How many people have you contacted (500, 1000, more, etc.)

      Answer those questions I can provide more insight.

      Many people will immediately become skeptical if you mention MLM right off the bat. As Chuck stated, it would help very much to know what you are saying at first. If you are not leading with the products or services, you need to start. When you start with a business opportunity, people are going to put up a brick wall immediately.

      Are you with ACN or a different MLM?

      Keep in mind that there will always be people saying no, but that doesn’t mean you should give up on them. Just check in from time to time, and you may be surprised when suddenly a yes, sign me up comes.

    Without commitment you will not get very far in your ACN business. How can you expect to succeed if you can’t stick with anything long enough in order to do so? You have to be able to put in the amount of work that it takes in order to see any real results. Success does not come overnight. In such a business, it takes at least a few years of serious work in terms of building and growing the business in order to see real monetary results. What are some strategies you would suggest to keep people from burning out quickly?

      If someone is in ACN and interested in building a large ACN downline, here are a few tips I would recommend, so they don’t get burnt out:

      1. Have Realistic Expectations: You need to have realistic expectations about your business. You won’t achieve overnight success. Realize it’s probably going to take 2-3 years of consistent effort to build up a $3k to $5k monthly income and five+ years to build up a six figure income.

      2. Sponsor 2-4 People per Month: Just focus on bringing in 2-4 personally sponsored distributors every month. A goal of one person per week is a great goal.

      3. Have a Big Vision: If you have a big vision, you won’t get burnt out or frustrated. You will realize that everything you are doing is moving you closer to your vision.

      4. Stay Plugged in to Your Upline: Stay connected with your successful upline sponsor. Talk with them once a week. Attend the calls and trainings.

      These are four simple things I would do to prevent myself from getting burnt out or frustrated while I built my ACN downline. What are your thoughts?

    Using Facebook to generate ACN leads might not be a bad idea after all. Even if the website’s stock value plummeted shortly after it went public, that doesn’t change the fact millions of people still use Facebook every day, usually several times a day. They offer some targeted advertising and unlike you, they can gather all kinds of information about their users, which they will use when marketing your ads.

      There are several ACN Distrutors who generate leads and build their ACN business by utilizing Facebook. Most of these folks don’t promote ACN on Facebook though. They promote a system, lead program or training course and then backend people into their ACN business. This is the strategy I recommend to others as well.
