Best Advice for New Network Marketers

Today, I want to share what I consider to be the best advice for new network marketers, however, the advice really applies to anyone in the industry.   If you are new to the business, the best piece of advice I can share with you today is DON’T QUIT.  This one thing alone will really help you become successful.

You see, 90% of the people in our great industry will do one of two things in the next 90 days.  They will either quit their company and rejoin a new company.  Or, they will quit the industry for good.  The numbers might fluctuate a bit, but based off what I’ve found in the industry during the past 11 years, these numbers are about right.

This really makes me sad, but I’ve realized that it’s just human nature to quit things.  Few people follow through with what they start.   And to be honest with you, I’m not sure WHY people give up on their dreams, and their business, so quickly.

More importantly, I’m not sure why anyone thinks they can build a successful business of ANY kind in less than 90 days.  That’s just not the way that life works!  Good things take time.  It takes time to develop the right skill-set and right mind-set.  It takes time to build a business.

Heck, you’ve probably been working at a job for YEARS, yet you are struggling to get by. If you’re like most people, you’re probably overworked, underpaid and unfulfilled.  But you didn’t quit your job because you aren’t rich.

So why would you expect to join MLM and have all your financial problems go away in just a few months?

Succeeding in MLM is not like winning the lottery.  It’s not a matter of luck.  The only way you will succeed in any business (MLM included) is to have a good game plan, a strong work ethic, some discipline and some follow through.

Since it’s a new year and many people are making a New Year’s resolution today, this is the best resolution I can recommend.

“Find a good company with products you are passionate about and make a COMMITMENT to get started and never quit that company.  Make it a resolution to stick with the industry for the long haul (at least ten years).  Only then do you even have a fighting chance for success.”

You see, successful business owners don’t just “try things out.”  You think someone would open a franchise or a traditional business with the idea of just “trying it out for 90 days and seeing what happens?”  I don’t think so.

Study any successful person in our industry and you will notice a few things.  First and foremost, their success did not come quickly.  It took them time to develop their skills and mind-set.

Next, they were COMMITTED to their business and knew they would have ups and downs, struggles and successes.  They knew that if they did “money producing activities” day in and day out for a period of MONTHS and YEARS, good things would happen.

That’s the key to success in business and MLM!

So unless you want to be a statistic in this industry, make a decision that you will NEVER quit your company or the industry.  Make it a point to sell out to MLM and to your MLM Company. Do that and good things will happen.

  1. Patience. That is the word. I really think MLM should be allowed to grow for at least five years. The day job should sustain the bills and keep life in motion.This as you put it is the ingredient needed to keep the team members motivated enough to keep trying. Yes, I agree this is probably the best advice a new MLM distributor can receive.
