Belief Always Comes Before Results in Network Marketing

Belief always comes before results.  I learned that from Mike Dillard in his great book “Magnetic Sponsoring.”  When it comes to network marketing, this statement is very true.  Study any successful distributor in any company and you will quickly discover that they have an unwavering belief in themselves, this industry, their company and their products! They had this belief from day one, even when they were new to the industry and didn’t know what they were doing.

Talk to most people in our industry and they WANT to succeed.  That’s a good starting point. But on the other hand, many of these same folks don’t BELIEVE they will succeed.  They don’t have the “I can, I will, I shall” attitude.  They don’t have the mindset that failure is NOT an option.  And that’s one of the primary reasons that 90% or more of the people in network marketing FAIL.

Wanting something is a great starting point, but ultimately you need rock solid belief.

  • You need to believe in yourself
  • You need to believe in the industry
  • You need to believe in your company
  • You need to believe in your products

And the best way to build this belief is to have confidence in yourself and to have a crystal clear VISION for your future.

If you don’t have the belief in yourself and what you are doing, you won’t stick with network marketing UNTIL you succeed.  You won’t be able to overcome temporary defeat, the negative criticism, the disappointment and the rejection that you will face on a daily basis. You won’t survive the struggle.  You will give up and quit and run back to your comfort zone.

Remember that you will have to build your belief BEFORE you get the results.  You will never build a six figure income in MLM if you don’t BELIEVE you will.  You will never build a team of several thousand distributors if you don’t believe in yourself.  You won’t be able to sponsor others if you don’t believe in your company or product line.  You won’t be able to train your team if you don’t have a good self image.   I could go on and on but the bottom line is that you must BELIEVE before you can attain MLM Success.

If you are struggling with your self-image, confidence and belief, it’s not the end of the world.  You can build up that belief.  But it won’t happen by accident.  You need a game plan.  That being said, here are a few pointers I can suggest to you.

# 1 Get Around Successful, Positive People – One of the best things you can do is rub elbows with other successful network marketers in your company, and in other companies. Hang around folks who build you up, not break you down.  Study them. Learn from them. Ask them for help.

# 2 Read Books – Reading is a great way to build up your belief.  You will learn new skills and you can read about other people’s success.

# 3 Use Daily Affirmations – I love affirmations.  Create some daily affirmations and say them daily until you start to think positively.  Get started and never stop.

# 4 Take Massive Action and Learn from Your Mistakes – You can build up your belief by rolling up your sleeves and taking action.  If you do the work, you will see some great results, which will help build up your belief.

# 5 Keep Track of Your Successes – Keep a network marketing journal and write down all of your successes, whether big or small.  Make sure you celebrate your successes and refer back to your journal daily to keep the belief going.

Final Thoughts

It’s true folks, belief always comes before results in network marketing.  All great leaders have a HUGE BELIEF in themselves, the industry, their company and their product line.  If you want to become part of the top 3% in this industry you need to learn the same thing.  You need to get your self-image and confidence right, so you have the posture and the right mind-set to build a six figure business.

  1. I really like your number 1 way to have that belief. Stay around positive and uplifting people. If we are always around negative people, that negative will rub off. We may think we can stay positive, but it can be very difficult. I have learned to separate myself from negative people and negative circumstances. It can make a huge difference in how you look at life and your network marketing business.

    I also love the daily affirmations. Just by feeding positive energy into our ears, we will react with positive thoughts and actions.

  2. This is so true. The is the whole “you have to love yourself before others can love you” truth. To be a success in network marketing, you really need to be a leader, and good leaders are not usually fraught with insecurities. (Notice that I wrote ‘good’ ones.) Successful people are naturally attracted to other successful people. SO this is great advice to work on yourself first, building up yourself and your self confidence. Whether you use self-help books, inspirational tapes, or attend team-building seminars, treat yourself as your own most valuable resource, and it will pay off.
