He dropped some SERIOUS wisdom. Even though the questions were about business and life, I think many of this tips he shared are relevant to network marketers as well.
Each tip he shared is listed below in bold and italics. After each quote I will share my own two cents on the issue, and how it pertains to network marketing.
# 1 Don’t be afraid to use a good idea. You are one good idea away from being successful in your network marketing business. If you hear something that makes sense to you, don’t be scared to try it out. Worst case scenario, it doesn’t work out as well as you thought it would. Best case scenario, you get MASSIVE, positive results in your business.
# 2 Figure out what works for you. Everyone you talk to is different. Everyone on your team is different. Everyone has their own unique talents and gifts. You already know that. Stop trying to put a square peg into a round hole. Figure out what works for YOU in your business and do it. Use your own talents and abilities to build the business in a way that works for you.
# 3 You don’t get medals for trying. As a network marketer, or entrepreneur, we are only paid when we produce. No results, no money. This is true capitalism at its finest. The opportunity is unlimited, but you might also spend a lot of time and earn nothing.
# 4 A game plan is good until you get started. Nothing in life or business ever goes exactly as planned. It’s great to have a game plan, but you must be flexible and adaptive. Success is never a straight line. Instead, it’s a bunch of zigs and zags.
# 5 You’re prepared when everyone on the teams knows what to do. Your job as a leader is to set the example for your team AND to prepare your team for success. Provide training and offer help. Tell people what to do. Show people what to do. And help them do it!
# 6 It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. Success in life comes down to the relationships you have with others. Yes, you must be good at what you do. But, you also need people skills. You need to build rock solid relationships with others, so they like, know and trust you. It’s not just who you know that matters, either. It’s also what they think about you.
# 7 Good players can’t overcome bad coaching. A good coach can turn a bunch of ponies into stallions and a bad coach can turn a bunch of stallions into ponies. The speed of the leader is the speed of the team.
# 8 It’s not all about talent, it’s about dependability, coachability and being able to improve. Lots of talented people end up as failures. Anyone can become successful IF they have the desire, they are coachable, and they are willing to put in the work and get better every single day.
# 9 Follow your heart. Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life. I can’t speak for you, but network marketing is a labor of love for me. I believe it’s my calling in life. Do you feel the same?
# 10 Do your job, be attentive, pay attention to the details and put the team first. These are three great tips for network marketers. Put in the work, pay attention to the details and support your team. Do these three things and you can’t go wrong.
