10 Advantages of Being a Female Network Marketing Professional

Have you ever heard the saying, “It’s a man’s world.” ? As a child of the 60’s things were a lot different than they are now. Professions were very much gender specific and girls often felt they were limited on what career they could choose when they grew up. Many of us felt like it was a man’s world and we desperately wanted to be in it.

Thankfully, the time has come in the 21st century that people would laugh if you suggested a profession was gender specific. There are advantages to being one gender or the other, but this blog post is about the advantages of being a woman in the network marketing profession. 10 Advantages of Being a Female Network Marketing Professional

# 1 Great Communicators

Women love to talk…it’s just what we do. We want to know what’s going on and we want to know how you feel about it. We are not afraid to ask questions and get to the deeper meaning of something. When you want to know the details, always ask a woman. The skill of listening is learned but essential to success.

# 2 Softer In Their Approach

Typically women do not try to press the hard sell on others. Some women feel more comfortable throwing a party or having a get together to share their network marketing product or service. Women are comfortable calling in another person to be the expert.

# 3 Encouraging 

People will typically do more for others than they will do for themselves. As a  natural instinct, most women love to encourage others and do it readily. Women are often encouraging others in groups which raises enthusiasm and excitement.

# 4 Fair with Others

Life is not always fair but if given the chance a woman is usually thinking about the other people that are involved. She will see to it that everyone is treated equally and no one is playing favorites. You will always know where you stand with a woman.

# 5 Work on Personal Development 

Women are taught at an early age to work on improving themselves. They have watched the women in their family as they get ready for important events. The manners are polished and they have been drilled about first impressions. Most importantly they have spent time in reflection working on themselves to be the best person they can be.

# 6 Good at Building Relationships

Social media has changed the way people communicate with each other. It has open a whole new world for a lot of people whether it’s for business or pleasure. I found some interesting statistics for social media that were compiled in this research.  It seems men use social media to do business while women use it to build and maintain relationships.

# 7 Organization Skills and Multi-tasking

Eric Worre founder of Network Marketing Pro, shared in a recent training that busy people should work in 15 minute time blocks to be the most effective. Time is valuable so being able to multi-task is an important skill. I do believe that a list helps to keep things running smoothly but when it comes down to getting everything done, it sometime takes a little multi-tasking. I know I have found myself on a phone call while preparing dinner or picking up children from activities more than once.

# 8 Tenacious 

Most women I know will not give up on their dream. Even if they have to go slower than they want, they will continue without giving up. I think that is one of the qualities I admire most in women. When a true desire takes hold there is nothing that will hold a woman back.

# 9 Community Builders

Like relationship building, women tend to love to build communities. I know from my personal experience that I get great satisfaction from seeing my friends and family come together. My work community has become my family and our children are growing up together learning the value of helping one another out.

# 10 Empowering

I love this word. Just looking at it gives me a good feeling. It makes me feel like I have a gift to share with others. By partnering with other women we are able to empower each other to be the best we can be. So many times women don’t realize their value until they are around other successful women and only then can they be free to be their authentic self.

To be fair, I’d like to share some disadvantages in no particular order. 

  1. Women are often seen as the weaker sex because we show our emotions.
  2. Men sometimes think we are coming on to them if we initiate a conversation.
  3. Women typically have to put a little more effort into their looks.
  4. Sometimes life can be overwhelming if we are not good at setting boundaries.
  5. There are not as many role models as males, but we are increasing the numbers daily.

My Take On It

I love being a strong, independent, female network marketing professional. I have made so many friends in this profession that I will have for a lifetime. My life has been enriched so much by the relationships I have made and I know my children are learning from my example. I have learned to step out of my comfort zone, get dressed up and show up with a smile on my face and I have been richly rewarded.

Final Thoughts

The real key to success in network marketing is being professional whether you are a male or a female. You don’t have to work full-time, but you have to be fully committed to make it work. You must be willing to take the time to learn the skills, decide how much time you have to invest and what you are willing to do to be successful. Network marketing is simple, but not easy; however, it will always be worth the time you invested in it.

    This is a great post. I do also believe that females have an advantage over males in network marketing in general. I also do think that much of this comes down to the product lines. Many network marketing companies were built with women in mind. I think of such companies as Avon, Mary Kay and others that sell items that are directed towards women.

    Now if we had more tool, auto parts, etc… MLM companies, I believe men would have an advantage in them.

      Thank you Greg! I agree with you on it being easier for females to market certain product lines. You gave me a chuckle thinking about men marketing auto parts and what a home party could look like. My main goal is to have fun while making a living helping other people feel good. Meeting fabulous people along the way is awesome!
